do you sit in a fast food window line that has 15 or twenty cars in it for lunch?
I marvel at the sheep sitting 6 cars back in the gas line at Costco to save 5 cents per gallon. If they are completely dry with a 20 gal tank, the most they will save is a dollar, less than that for most of them. Isn't their time worth more than that ?

I walk in and order. About the only fast food I get is coffee. 999 times out of a thousand it's micky d's, 2 large black, before six am, with a two for one receipt from the last purchase.

Here in Wickenburg, it is not unusual to see horse and rider in line for carryout.
It seems to me that the length of the line is not always a good indicator. I've been behind one car, and the customer and/or cashier had some problems with the order. Might as well have been behind 10 cars. Usually the local McDonalds moves well, with two lines that merge into one.

So if you drive past the Chick Fil A with 20 cars in line, and down to the Burger King where there is no one in line, what does that say about the food?

Ditto.
I refuse to sit in my car to order, even if I'm the only one in the drive through. I will always go inside and interact with a person face to face.

Only if it's Chick-Fil-A. They move their lines really quickly. If their line is even too long for them, I'll use the curbside mobile ordering which no one ever seems to use.

Same here. They seem to process a 10 car line in 2-3 minutes.
Nope. Nothing is that good. Not even the hookers on south Figueroa in L.A. .

I will go hungry before I will wait in a long line, drive up or otherwise, for "fast food".
On more than on occasion I have gone all day without eating just because every time I considered eating, the lines were too long. Grab a coffee or a soda from a vending machine and keep moving. I know I will feel like crap if I eat it anyway, so why add insult to injury?

Generally no, but if I've got some spared time and a good podcast on, it's essentially downtime for me and I'll take it from time to time.

If Popeye's has more than 3-4 cars in line to order, I'll pass and go down to Whataburger or Taco Bell. If CFA has more than 10 I'll go inside. (Actually, I typically go inside and eat there at CFA because I like to order their soup and don't want to risk spilling it on the way home.)

+1 Our local Chick Fil A sends folks out with iPads to take your order when the line gets longer than say 10 or more vehicles. Still takes less time than the other guy with 6 cars in line.

Yesterday Costco was 20 cents lower than the next cheapest in the area. My truck has a 35 gallon tank, so the saving was enough for a box of ammunition, and I had to go in to Costco to stock up on some stuff anyway, so it was worth waiting on line. The time was not wasted, I was able to catch up with replies to email messages while waiting.
