OK but like..... How are they going to know?
The whole premise of a VPN is to obfuscate/hide your traffic that's in flight.
Without the cooperation of VPN software vendors there's zero way for them to determine what site that some VPN user is accessing.

This is where my signature goes.

I'm not so sure about that.

The content is concealed, the fact that communication occurs is not. Certain aspects, like the IP addresses of the VPN endpoints can be harvested. Time signatures of the VPN establishment/duration and social media posts can be correlated. The act of posting can leave cookies and other footprints on the originating system.

None of this is "proof," but in a jurisdiction that has no restraints on search and seizure, self-incrimination, or personal privacy, this "evidence" can certainly be used against you.

VPNS only protect against certain specific data acquisition threats, and are widely misunderstood as a general shield against malicious actors. Not to say one should avoid VPN use, just don't think it necessarily makes one "safe."

Surprised? Not.

Surprised only that more leftist governments aren’t doing the same.

Probably they will.

Looks like open war against all things Musk in Brazil:

Guess what? The US State Department 'meddled' in the the 2022 Election in Brazil (presumably the CIA was also involved in the 'election interference' efforts there!), supporting the Lula Da Silva, the Leftist, and undermining Jair Bolsonaro. These are the consequences! Mad

Let Brazil go full-commie. The fact that the U.S. helped a leftist displace a conservative is very telling of the intents of Obama and his puppets.

Brazil will go back to the hyper inflation of the 80's that makes the recent inflation in Argentina look mild. They are a major food supplier to China, so when their economy collapses like Venezuela, they will be irrelevant and China will need to get food somewhere else.

China cannot feed itself with domestic production, they cannot even grow what they do without massive imports of fertilizer components. This is a big reason why so many starved to death under Communism. China DEPENDS on global trade to exist as it does today.

Given that the U.S. is China's biggest trading partner, Xi's incessant bent to bite the hand that feeds him (literally) is insane. He wants to be top dog in the world, but it's not going to happen the way he thinks it will. By allying with Russia, Iran and every other U.S. enemy, he is sealing his fate.

It gets even weirder with Brazil

The NFL for some inexplicable reason has decided to host the first official game of the season beteeen the Eagles and the Packers in soccer-loving Brazil. Why you ask? I have no clue, they’re never going to get South America interested in American football but I think greed drives it.

The stadium where the game will be played has a policy that no one is allowed to wear green as that is the color of a bitter rival.

Take a WAG what the official colors of the Eagles AND the Packers are?

You guessed it…GREEN Roll Eyes

And now they won’t be allowed to use Twitter there? The whole thing needs to be canceled ASAP

Looking deeper.

The Brazilian government threatened X's legal representative in Brazil with imprisonment and froze her bank accounts, leading to her resignation. Musk will not hire a new one lest the same thing happen again.

So now, they froze Starlink's accounts in Brazil so they cannot accept payments from subscribers. Starlink is popular in the areas of Brazil outside major cities. Though Musk has ownership in Starlink and X, they are separate legal entities and Brazil cannot legally do this.

So like all leftists, they are turning Brazil into a Banana Republic and ignoring the rule of law to maintain power.

If you have a VPN, setting your location to Brazil to browse X might help add to the noise and hamper their government’s efforts.
