Lawyers are all over the map. Some (the big law guys, especially) look like Brooks Brothers custom shop ads. Some look like hobos mismatched suit parts, frayed cuffs, shoes with worn out soles, etc. Some look like mobsters - trying way too hard. Some even look like cops - and then you find out they are ex-cops.

I like the ones that look like pimps. Here is an ad for example:

Is that the lawyer, or a satisfied client?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

They are pretty good shoes though.

Me too. I have wide feet and need 4E in 11.5 to 12. The Rockports are a pretty decent looking dressy shoe.

I believe that is the attorney, cannot tell without the sunglasses. He is also a sports agent, and does not sport a tie.

Good tip, and ditch the clip on tie, toothpick and mirror sunglasses.

I don't see it as a photo shoot for the cover of GQ. Clean and pressed clothes that fit, black or dark brown/dark maroon shoes (shined), neatly trimmed hair, if any, including facial hair, and no B.O. or bad breath.

Make sure your tie is tied to the right length.

Literally the worse impression is a tie that is tied too short or too long.

I can forgive cheap clothes or being out of style. Not everyone cares or can afford to look sharp.

However, not tying your tie properly is just lazy. You have a tie. You've tied it. But you can't be bothered to do it over to get it the right length. Worse impression ever.

A good tailor can make all the difference, but expect to pay as much if not more than you did for the $100.00 suit.

This is something that is often overlooked when prepping for a professional appearance...it is amazing that something so easily corrected doesn't get taken care of.

Don't go for current style, go for what's classic and conservative.

I've always set it with the tip of the tie to be about where the center of the belt buckle is while standing straight up.
