Federally Funded Non-Profits Whine About Decline in Refugee Admissions and Revenues
The organization I most previously worked for was under the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (Catholic Charities), Catholic Healthcare.
They are FIRMLY against President Trump's immigration policy and sent a message to all employees stating so, urging us to contact our representatives to stand against the new policies.
The hospital system I worked for, 35,000+ employees and physicians, did a lot of good and gave away a lot of healthcare to the less fortunate but they are extremely political.
All these groups like to discuss issues of immigration in terms of pure altruism, generosity, and welcoming the stranger.
For some reason, they rarely if ever mention the possibility that politicians may have self-interested motives for supporting high levels of immigration with little oversight.
Much less do the groups mention that they themselves have found that by generously welcoming strangers to our land, they can receive bountiful subsidies of tax dollars that underwrite hefty salaries for persons who claim to act only from the most selfless motives.
