212,672 migrants encountered at the border in July, says DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas
So they have a plan to fix the screw up they did when they reversed Trumps border policies but it is complicated so we really can't tell you what it is.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced Thursday that 212,672 migrants were encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border last month, a 13% increase over the 188,000 encounters in June.

The number of encounters in July 2020 was 40,929, Fox News reported.

Of the more than 212,000 migrants, 95,788 were removed by the Title 42 public health protection, Mayorkas said. But last month, there were 104,907 Title 42 removals.

Most single adult migrants were removed under Title 42, but only 12% of families were removed.

Mayorkas called the border situation "one of the toughest challenges we face."

"It is complicated, changing and involves vulnerable people at a time of a global pandemic," the DHS Secretary said.

He said that "root causes" like violence, poverty, and corruption were driving migrants to the U.S. as the American economy is picking back up. Mayorkas also noted that ending the Trump administration border policy and re-establishing asylum laws were also factors.

"We have a plan, we are executing our plan and that takes time," he said.

A plan to register the “migrants” as democrat voters, no doubt.

Such a strange coincidence that the 'root causes' got so bad when Biden was declared winner. I don't understand how a US election could deteriorate the situation down there so quickly?

What does this mean? What is a "Title 42 removal?" Where are these illegals "removed" to? Perhaps they could be removed to the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, perhaps they could be removed to their country of origin, perhaps they could be checked in to the graybar hotel, but I would bet that they will be "removed" to a Latin ghetto in a US city near you increasing the count of the homeless, poor, and unemployed in your statistical area.

212,762 is a laughable figure. Hang out at the Montgomery County, Maryland DMV for 1 month and you will see 80K immigrants being processed... and that's 1 DMV among dozens in the state. I'm not joking!!!

Title 42 removals were authorized due to the pandemic. It means that once the status of the subject has been established they are then sent back across the border to Mexico. There is a limited capacity for these so not everybody gets Title 42ed.

212k “encountered”. How many more were not “encountered”?
