So feeling like I need to replace mine. Never done before. How is it to do and have any recommendations on ones to get? I will probably order online as I am not anywhere near a place to just go a pickup. Thanks guys.

Oem tells me I need to order housings and lenses as one unit. $425 per side Frown

Bought new housings off Amazon, probably made in Huangzoo, China, but they look good, fit and the OEM parts are no longer made.

I recommend Certifit website if you're going to replace your headlight housing with aftermarkets. At least the manufacturers on there are established 3rd party vendors of reputable and decently built replacement parts used by body shopes. You're rolling the dice if you order off of eBay and Amazon whether the ones ordered are designed to work properly. Headlights are important safety components. They need to project the light correctly instead of primarily to look cool. Certifit also have brick and motor stores in some large cities.

Car-parts.com of you want to find recycled/salvaged parts.

Might be more than you want to spend, but I bought Morimoto XB headlights for my 2010. They are very high quality. Bought them 5 years ago and they have been excellent and haven’t changed their clarity.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/ca...dlamp+assembly,10762 The highest one is $223, depending on the manufacturer and whether it has level adjusters. I can vouch for the TYC brand as I have them on my own car. How much shit you have to take off the front end to reach the mounting bolts, I can't say.

Buy the assembly that is CAPA certified. Then, buy the true LED bulbs that fit. Replace the cheap halogen bulbs with the LEDs. Then, install the entire lamp assembly. Use YouTube for how to information.

If I am not mistaken TYC is one of the largest OEM headlight suppliers.
I am 99.9% positive they are the OEM supplier for Toyota.
I upgraded my 2014 Tundra halogens to the 2018 OEM LED style TYC headlights.
As best as I can tell they are exactly the same as OEM just far cheaper.
They are going strong years later.

I changed mine to some off Amazon. Lost the remote up/down adjustablility from the cab switch. Also, the trim under the headlights is a bugger to get off an and not break but otherwise easy to pull off. I broke both mine and had to order new and have painted.

Now the cheaper Amazon headlights look like they are peeling and starting to look crappy again.

I’d look at having them restored by a detail or paint shop and then sprayed with automotive clear coat if I did it again.

You are correct about TYC. That is the brand I usually order replacement parts while I was helping out at my brother's body shop. The other brand that was almost as good (no fitment issues) is Depo if I recall correctly.
