Like the title says. The only way for me to get more than a couple of hrs sleep is with pain meds and that only helps a little. Shoulders are what bother me the most. Currently have a foam mattress that has developed wear patterns.Anyone find relief from an adjustable bed? And if so what type mattress to put on it?

My left shoulder is sore most of the time along with my lower back and left knee. We sprung for a Casper mattress at Costco last year and I love it. I sleep on my sore left shoulder and can sleep all night - unless nature calls me to the bathroom. Our queen was about $600.

I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

Try Fox Mattress in Daytona Beach. They make all types of mattresses from foam, natural & synthetic latex, to old school flippable double sided mattresses. We have two king size versions of their chiropractic line in our two Master Bedrooms. My wife went through having a titanium cage built around her S1-L5 vertebrae due to degenerative arthritis 5 years ago. That’s when we bought our first one and then a second one two years ago.

If you are a side sleeper, you may benefit from a softer mattress that would allow your shoulder to sink in more further allowing your spine to have better alignment. I recently bought a natural latex topper that helps me. I would recommend a new latex mattress in soft or medium firmness depending on your weight.

I have an adjustable bed and purchased the bed frame from Costco. It was the Sleep Science Split King Adjustable Base and it was $1600. I'm a side sleeper and currently recovering from a dislocated shoulder so the adjustable bed has been invaluable for back sleeping.

Unfortunately, I can't give a direct link for a mattress as they got out of the bed in a box business. What I can help with is provide very helpful link on selecting a mattress and a little food for thought on what I did. Here is what I wrote back in 2018 summarizing how I purchased my latex base with a latex topper in 2017.

This is so much better than reading ratings on Amazon, Costco, etc. as they actually break down the layers and their quality. Not a big deal if you're 150 lbs, but a huge deal if you're over 200 lbs. The link above is specifically for their bed in a box (do yourself a favor and spend the time reading the 33 pages), and if you're over 200 lbs make sure it says "suitable for any weight range." For the OP, you'll see that some of the ones listed here are either comprised of poor materials or there are better choices for less money.

A word of caution, I'm normally an Amazon fan, but in this case I'm going to recommend against Amazon. Amazon's policy is that their warranty supersedes the manufacturer's warranty and most of the bed in the box mattress companies have a 90 or 100 day trial period if you buy direct, but if you buy from Amazon it's 30 days.

Last December, I ended up buying one of the talalay latex mattresses they rated "suitable for any weight range" and I'm extremely pleased. Normally, I'd post the manufacturer's link but their website is acting up.
Very unfortunate they got out of the bed in a box business since it has been a sweet set-up with the high quality base and then matched the talalay latex topper to my sleep style and body weight. I ended up getting a king with a softer side for side sleeping and firmer side for back sleeping. Even bought two king size latex pillows with one being higher profile for side sleeping and one being lower profile for back sleeping. All in (mattress, topper, pillows, and shipping) I spent less than $1200 for something extremely customized, every component was premium, and way better than anything locally at 3x the price.

The good news is the mattress underground link will show you bed in the box companies that offer the same thing (quality base and topper to match your sleep style and weight).

We have an organic latex mattress. I think the lack of chemicals used in typical mattresses has helped me sleep pretty well. I also take Magnesium orally and use Magnesium spray. If you haven't tried Magnesium, give it a shot.

Not going to make a recommendation on a mattress as that's such a personal choice.

But regarding the adjustable frame, my experience is that often a small change in frame position is all it takes to subtly change the pressure point to allow me to get back to sleep.

I hear you on the shoulders brother. Terrible shoulder pain while sleeping. I do have RA, but I'm not sure that affects the large joints. So maybe this is just old age.

I'm using a 3" memory foam topper. I'm not sure if it's making it better or worse. I have a theory that I roll over less because I'm in a crater. I use a pillow to "hug" to that I'm able to lean in on it, and thus take a little weight off the low shoulder. It's a pain. No pun intended.

I was having trouble with my back and legs for about a year, and getting worse despite stretching and advice of physical therapists and a good chiropractor and exercise physiologist.
Got a tempur pedic mattress and frame ( yes ridiculously expensive) within 2 weeks with the new bed and mattress pain is gone.

You mentioned dislocated shoulder. Same here, injury occurred 12/21/20 from a car wreck.

How long are you into the healing process? My left shoulder is quite painful and limited movement. Just seeking advice with some one with the same injury.

I’m 2 months into it. Just finished my 3rd week of PT. PT script is for 6 weeks so no idea if I’m better then or they extend the script.

I have good range of movement, strength is maybe 15% to 50% depending on muscle (eg I used 4 lb dumbells on something I would’ve used 35 lb dumbells 2 months ago), and fortunately pain is dull and in the auxiliary muscles not the rotator cuff. Originally, the sorest muscle was trapezius but now it’s front deltoid (0% of PT engaging front delt to date so it’s knotting from 2 months of no use).
