tacfoleyPractical shotgun shooting in UK...
Surprise, eh?
We have over a hundred club members for whom this is their only shooting sport - they often do very well with it, three of them are here in this video from 2019.

henryaz Very nice. Thanks for posting. I've never seen that "on the shoulder" reloading technique before.

DennisMTac, I've appreciated your explanations of UK firearms laws in the past. Would shotguns of this type still be "easier" hurdles to clear for licensing than handguns, etc?

SigfestDo they use rifled slugs? Sabots? Low recoil? Ive Never even wondered what type of shell they use. I do now, after seeing that. That was really entertaining. Thanks tac.

In UK - all of it - ANY shotgun that hold more than THREE cartridges is classed as a Section 1 Firearm - just like any other rifled firearm, up to an including .75cal [in reality, that's the .700 Nitro Express double rifle].
In England, Scotland and Wales there is NO 'licensing' for a cartridge-firing handgun that still looks like a regular handgun - they are all prohibited firearms. Northern Ireland has no such strictures on regular-looking handguns.
Section 7 of the Firearms Act covers the prohibited firearms, which MAY be acquired for purposes of genuine interest, like R&D of handguns and crap like that. However, the gun has to be kept in one of around twelve secure storage centres in England, and basically you go there, collect your gun from its secure storage, shoot it in order to study it [yeah, right] clean it and hand it back.
NOT for me.

All slug. You can easily spend $500 in a day shooting that sport.
As an aside, be advised that only the person who has this kind of shotgun on their Firearm Certificate can actually shoot it. Every person you see has an FAC. Just like I do, except I'm not interested in this element of the sport. It just doesn't hold any appeal.
Without membership of the UK PSA - Practical Shooting Association [https://www.ukpsa.co.uk]- you can't have one added to your FAC, which you must already have anyhow for other kinds of firearms that you might have.
