Yes. Email in profile. Somewhat difficult question.

I have a proper 100 yard range on property with a good backstop. But it is not foolproof. Stupid can still cause problems.

I don’t.
However, I do live in Chicago’s city limits, so I can basically launch round down the street.

Para, I just thought that some members might live on some acres and maybe had some sort of set up on their land.

I live in the middle of town and barely have a backyard.

Once upon a time I had a BB gun range in the back yard.

Good times.

I shoot in my front yard. Have a 85 yard rifle range shooting from a picnic table, just the right distance for sighting my deer rifles since that is typically the distance I hunt at. Also have a 20 yard handgun range shooting into a dirt pile with a natural bank backstop. Nothing fancy, but it works out well. I sometimes allow other people and family to use it, but only when I am there to supervise. I have 6 acres in the sticks and you can't see my house from the paved road. I am surrounded by 1,000 acres of tree farms.

All of my hunting is done right here on my property. I have three tree stands back there. If I need to sight in my rifle for some reason I have a portable bench rest I use, it can be set up just about anywhere. Nothing fancy.

In my dreams. But for what land costs around here it's never going to happen unless I win the lottery, and I don't play. Thankfully I have a membership at a good local club, a buddy with 135 yards and a nice backstop, and access to several LE ranges in the county.

No.
But I do back to common ground that has a nice natural back stop and I sometimes set it up for archery.
Firearms would scare the neighbors and would not be legal in St. Louis County.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Yes but it’s informal. I can set up on my porch and shoot out to 100 yards. No pix because I’m on the road right now. Some day I’d like to set up a berm at 300 yards.

Yep. I built a 600 yard range on our 72 acres here. Spreads from corner to corner. The 600 yard marker is right out my back door.

Here is from 100 yards to my shooting berm:

I have a 25 yard range set up with steel and Texas star and paper targets. A covered shelter with 3 benches and lights for night shooting. I also have 50,75,100 and 300 yard steel. I live on my farm and none of the neighbors mind at all.
I built my range after medical issues dictated that I needed good facilities close by. Smile
My range is my last gift to myself and friends and family.Have as munch fun as you can while you are here!!!

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

I made a bullet trap out an old stand up propane tank. I think it was rated as 114Gal. Maybe 125.

I cut the top off (30" in dia) and mounted it horizontal on an old boat trailer so I could move it around. I welded in a shelf plate to deflect bullets downward and put a bunch of the shredded rubber mulch in it.
It started out as just a close range test for reloads, just to make sure they went bang. I now have it inside my pole barn so I can do some target shooting with handguns. Being inside my barn blocks noise enough that my neighbors can't hear it mostly.
.44 mag doesn't even dent the bottom/back of the tank. Also put a few .223/55gr in it.

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

The closest I have are a couple of pellet traps I'll setup occasionally for air gun shooting in my backyard, but I don't have a gun range since I live in a suburban area, certainly less than an acre. But a buddy of mine has a piece of property to which I have free access, forty-four acres. He rents it out during hunting season, but has a range setup there, and I have added to it, maintained it as well. A picnic/shooting table/bench, PVC target stands I built, a few steel targets, etc. I'll bring a small canopy setup in the summertime. Not as nice or equipped as Hickok45, but it's still great and loads of fun. I only go there 4-6 times a year, it is a 2 hour drive to get there. But my wife loves shooting there, it spoiled her for shooting at a normal commercial range. Great place to shoot shotguns, rapid fire, a cooler full of food and drinks, we're set.
