Looks like it was a good trip, DF.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Bless.

We spend part of the year in Oregon. Don't feel the need to go anywhere else.

I had to dig up some old pictures, but they're from 1995. This was the first time I ever saw Crater Lake and Mt. St. Helens.

These pictures were taken with an old Ihagee Exa 35mm camera, made in Dresden, Germany, which was stamped "USSR OCCUPIED" on the bottom.

We were in about a 45˚ bank on this one...

Look closely, you can see our second helicopter at 5 o'clock from the center of the volcano.

Ah, the glory days...

I can see why it would be his favorite place. We went in the off season so there were few people there. It was definitely peaceful. An apropos gesture from you for him.

We were there a week. Went to the redwood forests in California too. I could spend the rest of my life there and be happy but for the looney Leftist culture. I'd rather be free and visit paradise occasionally.
