Was in Costco recently and saw the white USA made Alk. batteries. What is the thought on them.
Duracell's have gone down hill unless that has changed. They have been corroding devices so I am done.
I have a Fenix LD41 I bought from a member here. It is my night light to take the dogs out. Been a great light. I will not run Duracells in it. Been using Energizer alks in it with no issues. Time for a battery change.
And no I am not paying for Lithium, no way.

It's all we use, no problems for a few years. We stopped using Duracell after they ruined a few devices by leaking

Costco's Kirkland Signature brand AA and AAA batteries are manufactured by Duracell.

I figured Vtail. But are they the same battery?

Just pay the extra money and buy Energizers. Done

All alkaline batteries can (and will) leak and corrode devices, regardless of brand. It's a problem inherent to alkaline batteries.

So don't bother searching for some elusive leakproof brand. The only way to be sure that they won't leak is to not use alkalines.

I don't understood why folks continue to risk ruining their electronic devices just to save a buck. That ruined device will cost you way more in money and hassle than ponying up for higher quality NiCd/NiMH/Li batteries.

Even if you're focused purely on cost, rechargeable are cheaper in the long run anyway.

I buy Amazon Basics batteries now for AA and AAA and they seem decent for the price.

As Mr. JSK wrote (above), if it's an alkaline battery, it will leak. It's the nature of the beast.

We do not buy alkaline batteries any more. Too many things -- Maglite flashlights, BP monitors, handheld GPS, and other stuff -- have been ruined by leaky alkalines.

I have had repeated problems with Duracell leaking, will not use ever again.

I use Energizers, so far no problems.

I've had Kirkland brand leak. I haven't had duracells leak.

Will look into Energizer moving forward.

I use Kirkland brand AA and AAA batteries without any problems.
However, I do change them out once a year.

One of my electrical testers stays in my car in a tool bag year round. Never had Energizers leak. Can’t say that for Duracell. I never purchase anything but Energizers now.

I’ve had Duracells leak in their packaging before ever being installed in a device. I remember a time when that didn’t happen. Their product has become shitty over the past 15 or 20 years.

Haven't had the Kirklands leak in anything, but then again the grandkids go through batteries like a hot knife thru butter!

I use alkaline for quick use devices, such as a mouse that's replaced monthly or similar but for everything else, it's lithium.

The price of lithium, with up to a 20 year shelf life and no leakage is priceless, compared with having to replaced a ruined device.

Dropped using Duracell and started using Kirkland and now using Energizer. Both very happy with.

Just had Energizer Max D-cells leak in the brand new aerator I bought for our bait bucket. I really need to just rig a one of these rechargeable battery packs to 3v.

I bought a pack of Kirkland AA batteries, and at least 1/3rd of them leaked in the package before I got around to using them. This was over ten years ago, and made me swear off Kirkland & Duracell alkalines. I've had better luck w/ generic alkalines from Harbor Freight and Northern Tool that I got for next to nothing.
