Anyone else here having trouble getting scripts filled.

Been seeing shortages all year but it now seems that every local pharmacy is completely out and has been since last Friday with no idea when it will show up.

What is being done in your area.

It will get serious pretty quick for many.

I getting really sick of the bs attitudes of the worker bees and the major drug store changes enforcement policy's.

Yes, my wife was recently having a hell of a time getting scripts filled for our daughters. I think she tried at least 3 different pharmacies before she found one that had what she needed.

It’s not only prescribed drugs. Children's and infant Tylenol has been impossible to find as well. Our son was running a fever a few weeks ago and we could not find it anywhere.
Finally scored a couple of bottles to restock for later.
It’s the constant “treasure hunt” for formula and toddler meds that’s wearing me out. Some neighbors and coworkers have banded together to share shopping lists. We pick up what we can, when we can and make sure it gets to those who need it the most.

I keep a 1 year reserve supply of both prescription and over the counter medicine supply that I or members of my immediate family use or might need.

Too much comes from China or other possibly unreliable sources.

Yes the purchase price is not covered by insurance and regulated drugs require a heart to heart talk with my doctor.

I would advise stocking up when you can. Most dry medicine has a very long shelf life.

Luckily, for me, the only scrip I have is 5mg of Lisinopril for marginally high BP and, ever since I started Taurine supplementation I don't even need that, anymore.

But my wife has asthma and an acid reflux problem that do require constant use of two prescription meds, so I'm a bit concerned. They recently switched her inhaler and the new stuff she feels isn't nearly as effective as what she'd been using.

I also know that when I went to the drug store for daytime and nighttime cold meds after we came down with whatever it is a week-and-a-half ago, the shelves were nearly bare.

America really, really needs to bring drug manufacturing back home and stop relying on unreliable commerce "partners" such as China.

There are subsitutes for most all prescription drugs mentioned. Just call the doctor's office.
BTW the United States uses more Hydrocodone than the rest of the world combined.

No provider, or pharmacy, is going to dispense a year's supply of hydrocodone to anyone.

For some conditions one doesn't even need prescription meds.

E.g.: As noted, above: One of the fitness types I follow on Twitter mentioned Taurine is perhaps one of the most under-rated supplements available and recommended everybody should add it to their stacks. So I looked into it. Found that, among it's many benefits it lowered BP. Tried it. 3g/day, ±1½g in my morning hydration water and another ±1½g in the water bottle I fill after my morning coffee, and my BP is actually lower than it was on 5mg Lisinopril. (I've been checking it every morning since I made the switch.)

That does not surprise me in the least.

My dentist won't even prescribe it at all, any more. My periodontist did, after a couple procedures. I didn't need it, either time, so I filled the scrips and stashed them in a cool, dry place, in an airtight box.

I switched from CVS to Publix, because CVS sucks, for my ADD medicine. 2 weeks later, I ask Publix what is going on and they tell me my medicine is on backorder with no fill date. Back to shitty CVS for me.

We are being told they're doing away with Tylenol 4 completely, so I'm making the adjustment to Tylenol 3 and attempting to just make it work on patients that are odd sizes.

I've gotten so I won't stock any controls any more unless absolutely necessary.

Thank Cerebral and Done. Adderall has been overprescribed by these telehealth companies that are under investigation by the DOJ. It is way overprescribed and the manufacturer cannot keep up. The Pharmacy has nothing to do with it. The shortage is nationwide.

Just Google Cerebral and DEA. For some reason the link wont post

Thank the DEA and the dental board. I don't know any dentist that wants DEA agents snooping around. Most states keep track of opiate prescriptions.
