When my safe was in my home I had a golden rod plugged in the safe and it did an amazing job at keeping the interior of my safe at a perfect humidity level. Now my safe is in a “climate controlled” storage. I have temperature and humidity gauge in the safe and it seems the temperature is 75 degrees and 62% humidity with me having to change the dehumidifier every week. This is what I am using: https://www.eva-dry.com/produc...ewable-dehumidifier/ I just ordered two more and plan to put two at a time in the safe. I just don’t feel this storage is truly climate controlled as it feels humid inside to me. I would prefer the inside safe humidity level to be 50-55% and not have to switch out devices every single week. I really wish I had power and could use my golden rod. Anyone have any suggestions, or am I doing the best I can with what I am working with? NRA Benefactor Life Member

If the temperature is stable at 75 degrees, and 62% is also stable, you're probably OK. 45%-55% at 70 degrees is ideal, but you're still above dew point where you're at. Without power the only other thing you could do is seal the safe with your desiccant within. Despite most safes appearing to be air tight, they really aren't. Painter's tape around the door should help, but would be a pain if you're in and out of it regularly.

I am going to see how putting two dehumidifiers works. I like the idea of sealing with painters tape, but at this point I have to get into it every week to change the dehumidifiers. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Does your unit happen to have a screw in lightbulb for light? They make adapters that screw into those that would give you an outlet.

No, the light fixtures are fluorescent fixtures outside of the storage units in the hallway. I looked all over to try to see if I could find something like that to tap into. NRA Benefactor Life Member
