I was 4. I remember my dad saying "shit they have shot the President". Then, he grabbed his mobility bag, and was gone for a while.

It was my senior year and they announced it over the loudspeaker system at lunch time. It was one of those events in history that you will never forget where you were at the time.

I saw a movie on Amazon Prime: Parkland.
It is a depiction of what happened at Parkland Hospital when JFK arrived there for treatment. It was an interesting and different take on the JFK story. And the Zapruder film. I dont how how historically accurate the film is. Its worth a look.

I was in the 1st quarter of my freshman year in college in class. The classroom was about half empty, ten minutes in the prof hadn't showed up so we started to mill out. A girl, office worker, student I have no idea, came in and said that all classes were cancelled, the president had been shot-and left. No tears, no excitement, just news at 10:10. Outside the building was different, lots of tears and lost looks.

was a high school sophmore IIRC English class when news of the days event came over the PA system. After about 1 hour later clsses were canceled and I walked home................. One of our local areas young soldier was one of the US Army guards who was with the presidents body at Parkland hospital. ....................................... drill sgt.

I certainly do, I was doing prep for an exam in evening classes when the tutor walked in with dazed look on his face. 'Somebody has shot President Kennedy' was all he said, and sat down. His wife was American. All I recall thinking about was what happens now?

The intercom came on and told all teachers to report to the office immediately and all students to remain in their classrooms. Freshman at University of Arkansas, was in the student union and some of my friends told me what was going on. Some students were distraught but most seemed to take it in stride. I remember going to my classes the rest of the day as if nothing happened.

I was in Catholic grade school. I remember nuns wiping their eyes and girls openly crying.

I was a little over two years old, so no memory of him.

JFK was the face, the standard-bearer for the Democrat Party for decades through the 70s, 80s, and 90s, November 22nd was always a big deal. And now, he is hardly mentioned anymore, he is no longer the prime example of the party, it seems he is basically forgotten in today's political world.

Sadly, his passing lead to having one of our worst Presidents.

The Great Society and a tremendous expansion of the welfare system and government in many areas. The unintended consequences have led to many of the problems we face today.

The Tonkin Gulf Resolution that lead to a major escalation of the Vietnam conflict.
