Be weather aware today. Big swath of severe from Chicago to Shreveport
Big ass storm system in play. 2 rare areas of HIGH probability of severe weather. There will be some long track big tornados tonight.

Just a friendly heads up that we don’t have flying cars yet so if you see one hit the deck. Smile

Thanks for the heads up. Our binness is closing early d/t weather, since we are in the "you're all gonna die" ring around Memfrica. Don't think it'll be too bad, really, but if one of mine gets hurt, it won't have been worth it.

Not downplaying the severity of the tornado, but keep in mind that while "Level 3 Mass Casualty Incident" sounds really scary and I'm sure the media down your wait is hyping that up like crazy, there's actually a pretty low bar to trigger Level 3, merely relying on an expectation of at least ~20 injured people.

It's now quiet in Davenport, but for about an hour we got lots of rain and some hail.

They're still predicting 70 mph winds for round #2, which will hit in a couple hours.

Wonder if this is what blew through N Houston last night.
We got some relatively high winds & our neighborhood lost power from about 3-530am
Lots of leaf litter & small limbs down around the neighborhood.
My boss had his freestanding porch swing in his pool when he got up this morning.

Stay safe all of you that are going through the worst of it.

Little Rock Police Department transporting people to local hospitals as there aren't enough ambulances. It's Little Rock, so the aren't enough AmberLamps.

No reports yet on number of casualties.

Second "Dopler Indicated Rotation" just passed over us. We went outside immediately after and picked up someone's shingles, siding and pink insulation. There is some house debris on our roof. Have to get that tomorrow. Not from our house, thankfully.

Pay heed to the warnings tonight. These are the real deal in many places tonight and not just shingle blowers.

The number of trampolines that are going to be relocated in a 24 hour span will be astronomical. I swear the trampoline is the state bird of TN.

Alabama already claimed the trampoline as its state bird so it is off limits to TN. Smile

All joking aside, everyone in the path of this system needs to hunker down and stay safe.

US tornadoes leave four dead, including one at Illinois music gig

By Thomas Mackintosh
BBC News
One person has been killed and dozens more injured after a storm caused a theatre roof to collapse in Illinois at a packed heavy metal gig on Friday.

Around 260 people were in the Apollo Theater, Belvidere, when the roof caved in at 19:55 local time (01:05 BST), the local fire department said.

Fire chief Shawn Schadle said that five people were in a serious condition.

A series of fierce tornadoes ripped through several US states on Friday, killing at least seven people in total.

Extensive damage was reported in parts of the South and Midwest - with the states of Arkansas and Missouri declaring states of emergency. Tens of thousands were left without power.

A major tornado tore through the Arkansas state capital Little Rock, flipping cars, smashing roofs and toppling trees. Local officials said one person was killed and the city's mayor reported that at least 24 people were injured.

The state's governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, confirmed the deaths of two people in the town of Wynne, some 100 miles (170km) from Little Rock.

Further north, in the state of Indiana, officials confirmed that three people had died in Sullivan County.

More than 40 tornado reports were made across six states on Friday night, according to the US government's Storm Prediction Center.

Several flights at Chicago O'Hare International Airport were delayed or cancelled as passengers were told to take shelter due to what it described as "severe weather".

In Tennessee, Covington Mayor Jan Hensley pleaded with people not to "drive around" as power lines had been hit by storms.

The Covington Police Department described the city as "impassable" sharing photos of roads blocked by downed power poles and large trees toppled in front of homes.

Mrs Huckabee Sanders deployed the National Guard after what she described as "significant damage" in central Arkansas.

As of 20:30 local time, more than 70,000 in her state were without electricity, according to the US power outage website.

Friday's night of deadly tornadoes comes just one week after a rare, long-track twister killed 26 people in Mississippi. President Joe Biden visited the state on Friday to pay his condolences and promise federal aid.
