WMP’s built in one is decent. It even lets you specify bit rate.
Not minority enough!

If you have Windows, just use Windows Media Player. I would set the options to not add digital media licenses, don’t delete when albums are removed from your library etc.

As an aside I also use a Tascam DR-05 digital audio recorder plugged into my stereo's preamp and VinylStudio software to digitize my vinyl to computer.

Another vote for EAC.

Exact Audio Copy is excellent. Consider ripping to FLAC files. They are lossless and sound much better than MP3s.

Absolutely concur. Should have said this in my earlier post as well.

Will FLAC files play on mp3 equipment like in the automobile? On disc copies or off flash drive?

It all depends on the media/radio system in the car. Flac files play in my 2016 VW (from an SD Card or usb drive). I don't think they played in my previous car's aftermarket radio, but a lot of current aftermarket radios will play flac. Rip a cd and find out!

Some players can play FLAC and some cannot. On a phone you can easily download one that does. I use Neutron.

I listen to mp3 music on my Tecsun radios - either the ICR-110 or ICR-100. The passive radiator speaker on them beats anything else hands down. Same speaker as the PL-880.

Using FLAC files will sound better than mp3s on any given speaker, if your player will play FLAC files. The kind of file and the nature of the speaker are independent of each other.

I use VLC to play FLAC on my phone. If you rip to FLAC, you can always easily convert a copy to mp3 if you need to, but you'll still have the lossless original rip.
