Just got my Homeowner's Insurance Policy Renewal Notice from my current underwriter. F*** me right up the poop-shoot, man!!! Anyone venture a guess what the percentage increase is? If you guess ANYTHING below 50%, you'd STILL be off by WELL OVER double digits. Brace yourselves.....

65.5517241% INCREASE

For those that posted location, I live in Harris County, Texas. Probably has a LOT to do with the increase. Yeah...I am PISSED. OFF.

This must be certain parts of the country, because I just have not seen this with my homeowners or auto. I think auto went up like $5 per month and homeowners remained the same.

Then again, I’ve been with State Farm for 30+ years so I think that helps.

The NC insurance board is asking for a 43% increase here. They got an earful and I can only hope it is way less than that…

Just imagine all the young people who got bamboozled by the car dealer and then getting hit with a 40%+ required full coverage insurance premium. Eek

I have an independent agent and he's had me with this company, SageSure, going on 8 years now. They DID pay for my hail-damaged roof replacement about 3 years ago without much issue. I guess they're just trying to recoup their money now. Sh*t...this pretty much drives me to go self-insured. But probably won't.

I will CERTAINLY investigate premium differences if I cover only HALF the replacement value. Maybe that's an option??

My homeowner insurance premiums kept going up by ridiculous leaps. I discovered Kin; their premiums were much more realistic and they offered a lot more flexibility in choosing coverage.

I don't know whether they write in Texas. Check their website.

Amica's quote wasn't terrible, either, but Kin's was better.

Unfortunately, most do not have that option.
When I told my Ins Co to go take a flying ****, their response was "we are going to report this to the mortgage holder" my reply was "you just did"

Seems to me the common denominator here with the ones seeing these huge increases is you’re all in the South.

I’ve warned of this for us Texans, the past several years, ranting and raving in the pitch your bitch section. 2023, $1000 increase. 2024, $1116 increase.

My broker said the insurance companies are going Florida for TX. They are going to severely raise insurance premiums on homeowners or pull out of the state. Far too many make claims when they shouldn’t. Extreme weather state. It’s a combination of factors.

Y'all should tell the Insurance Companys to shove it and create your own non profit pool.
No one messes with TX, I think it would be a movement in the right direction and an insperation to us all!

Here in South Florida my rate has gone up 20% a year for the past 5 years. Newish tile roof and all impact (hurricane) windows and doors. $10k a year on a house with 1700 sq foot under air and 2200 sq foot total.
