Black92LXI built a guitar cabinet today. I'm no longer thinking of using spray-on bed liner on it.

Looks real good. We sure do have some talented folks around here.
I would look into Raptor Liner likely the easiet and best DIY bed liner. Can do any color under the sun fairly easily.
LizardSkin sound control may be an idea too.

Thanks! The raptor liner looks nice. I'll check into it.
From what I've read, the Raptor Liner seems to be glossy and I don't think that will be ideal.
I got the handles installed and sprayed the speaker baffle flat black today. I'm happy with the results so far.
The standard kits are considered a satin finish. They have an additive to make it matte.

Ok, that's good then. Thanks again.

Rick LeeUnless you care about cosmetics, I'd try it first without anything on it. You might find that bare wood sounds better. If you've ever seen old photos of the first Van Halen shows, Eddie had peeled all the tolex off his Marshall cabs. And later on, when he had Fender build his EVH branded cabs, he shipped them his old tolex-less cabs for comparison testing. Totally depends on what speakers and amp you're using. But it's easy enough to try out before adding any ind of covering.

mark123After all that, I went in a more traditional direction. I do appreciate all your help and suggestions.
I went with a Randy Rhoads style and used a white furniture upholstery. I'm pleased with the result so far.
I've still got to cover the back panel and decide on a speaker grille. I'm also pondering corner caps.
The contact cement has solvent in it and it removed some of the flat black paint I had on the speaker baffle. I'm going to have to re-apply the paint.
