Not for long if the Greenies have their way.

I know, if some of these groups believe in it so strongly THEY should have to pay to convert every home in America to non natural gas appliances, NOT the home owners and NOT the government.

At this point we would here crickets.

Yes, we do here ... but the bride would like to convert to induction with the stove top when we replace this year. I love natural gas with the outside grill since don't need to worry about a propane bottle going dry.

Generation for all-electric has to come from somewhere, and clearly wind and solar can't do it all.

Morons.

I doubt that agenda will get far. They are going to spend the next 25 years trying to get rid of gasoline powered cars. Then to do this will require another x% (guessing 30% or more) of powered needed from the grid to supply this power from the already stressed power grid. Relax boys and cook away.

A heat pump is fine for warm weather areas. A heat pump ain't gonna cut it at 7,400 feet in elevation.

Exactly. I'm not too worried about it.

I'm not married to gas, but I do like having it, especially as a backup. My current house and previous house all had gas heat, gas hot water, and a gas fireplace. It's nice during the big ice storms that we get every several years, which tend to knock power out for days at a time, since even if the HVAC has no power, I still have access to hot water along with an easy means to heat at least a portion of my house.

But the only gas I use when grilling is the little camping propane bottle that fuels my charcoal igniter torch. (Sorry Hank.) Big Grin

Of course it will take years for them to accomplish any of this. Meanwhile, the cost of energy is going to skyrocket, leaving the folks with less money, wealth and liberty.

Just switched over from natural gas furnace to heat pump, and glad I did as natural gas has gone up 25%+ since I changed over, and will surely go up from there. I still use it for hot water, cooking, and for my backup generator though.

I hate cooking on an electric stove when compared to gas, just what I'm used to...
I don't think the greenies will rid this area of SE AL of natural gas any time soon, but they'll keep driving the price up for sure.

That's the plan I'm sure.
Don't worry, the government will take care of you.

So much for that tankless Gas Hot Water heater.

I have an all electric home so I don't cook at all with natural gas. No outdoor gas grill either.
But I have been accused of generating natural gas with some of my entrees. Big Grin

They'll just drive the price up so high that the middle class and below won't be able to afford to buy it.
Mission accomplished in their eyes.

Gas was better than electric, but for us induction is best. Not heating up the kitchen in the summer is nice. Induction seems to boil water faster than any other option.

And it increases as you age. By 85, a normal male with the proper diet (think beans an such) could power a small city. Big Grin

I still like gas burners on the stove. Perhaps not as exact as turning an electric to member 4 etc, but when I turn the gas up or down, it's immediate... and I can see it under the pan. I like that. I lived with electric for many years and got used to it. Still, give me a flame.
