I'm not so sure this is a bad thing for us. Call me naive.

Whatever the case, for goodness sake, don't get panicked. Watch the video.

Read about it earlier and had the same thought. Export ban? Oh, ok.

Keeping everything stateside. At the consumer level, how is this bad for us? However, it's the Biden administration, so they have no interest in doing the American gun owner and shooter any favors, which means they're at least trying to pull some shit.

Can’t trust Mr. Potato Head.
How does lack of exports affects their profits?

Yes, if there is any ill intent by the Biden administration, it would seem to be aimed at gun and ammo manufacturers, attempting to affect their profit margins.

For the US consumer, though, this move would seem to be beneficial, assuming the Biden admin doesn't manage to bankrupt some of these companies, and frankly, I just don't see that happening..

Of course the Bidden administration is comprised entirely of stupid, America-hating assholes who are bereft of logic and critical thinking skills, so, who knows?

I assume that the Biden admin will still be able to direct sales to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, etc.

There are 43 countries that are exempt from this ruling including Israel and Ukraine.

A minor correction. Lake City may be the largest manufacturer of 5.56 ammo but both .30 and .50 cal ammo are being made under contract at the Radford Army ammunition plant in VA and is producing more than anyone else, currently multiple shifts.

I dunno... Consider who we're talking about here. For all we know he meant to ban imports, got himself confused and turned around, and accidentally banned exports

So does this export ban include the U.S. government.... which by the way is the largest international arms dealer on the planet? Maybe he is just looking after the Military Industrial Complex.... which is going strong thanks to all the stuff we left in Afghanistan.... Got to replace it all and with more better stuff.

Even if an import ban, how many hundreds of millions of guns and billions of rounds of ammunition are already in this country, again? Roll Eyes This and other half-assed measures won't do jack shit, and surely they must know it, but they won't be honest and come out and say they want to ban and confiscate all guns.

Para, I think you may be onto something. Much as the Biden Administration wants to see FFLs disappear, they may want to see the exporters (and as noted in one post, importers) out of business. Opening up as many fronts with the tools available is out of the leftist playbook.

First I've heard of the small arms production, I always thought of Radford as powder and/or solid rocket motors.

From the link below I found this tenant:
