The most expensive home in America is the Executive Mansion.
It costs billions to rent, requires you work there, and your lease is good for no more than nine years, 11 months, and 29 days.
Plus the neighbors on the hill to the east are real assholes.
How long?

Amendment XXII: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
Thus, you can become President during a term where someone else was elected, serve one year 11 months, 29 days (or one year, 364 days, if you prefer), without crossing the two year limit.
Then you can go on for two elected terms, for a total of nine years, 11 months, and 29 days (or nine years 364 days).

ChicagoSigManThe Playboy Mansion was listed for $200 million and sold for $100 million. My guess is that this home will not go for the asking price (which was chosen simply for publicity). Plus wasn't there a $500 million mansion on the market in LA that included a helicopter, art collection, fancy cars, etc?

JimineerI'm guessing they don't have to worry about water conservation like common folk out there. Or global warming.
I wonder how much earthquake insurance is for that mansion.

California - 1% = $3.5M
LA County - 1.16% = $4.06M
$7.56M
Only 1.16%. 1% is the state rate and. 16 is the local add on
So only 4mm. I assume since the buyer afford the 350mm ask the can swing 4mm in tax

I think your calculation is 1 day short. It says if you served more than two years..., thus two full years would be allowed. Ten years is possible.

If you served that extra day, you served the first day of the second year.
Example: you assume office at 00.00.01 hours January 1, 2018. You can serve until 23.59.59 hours December 31, 2019. If you serve more than that you serve on January 1, 2020, the first day of the third year (2018, 2019, 2020).

The scale of such things is staggering, and the one I was at didn't have as plush of grounds as this one.
The lunches sure were good, though, and those views...
Were there also two dogs? Named Zeus and Apollo perhaps?

don't forget that Prop 13 allows a 2% per year increase in assessed value so your taxes will be pushing $5m in a decade.
