It's not what you do once in a while; it's what you do day in and day out that makes the difference - Jenny Craig

In your case, week in and week out. I do appreciate these.

I was curious so I just did a search of my posts to see when I did the very first "Monday Morning Quote of the Week".

I could not find the first one and the search function revealed one back to 12/31/2018.

So I've been posting a Quote on every Monday for at least 7 years. Time flies when you are having fun!

I'd bet there aren't many who know the backstory. It's worth sharing.

Doesn't seem like it has been that long.

Time does fly! Thanks for sharing that.

The back story:

My daughter graduated high school in 2015 and went to Roanoke College way far away from St Louis MO in Salem VA.

I decided to send her an inspirational/life lesson quote every Monday while she was gone - she graduated college Cum Laude in 2019 and now lives in Fairfax VA. Yet I still sent them to her.

Now back to SigForum. I really enjoyed the late Jallen's posts and after he passed away, the thought hit me to include all of my invisible friends with a Monday Morning Quote in his honor.

Hence I've been sending a quote every Monday at approximately 8am to my daughter for almost 11 years. I'm not 100% sure when I started including all of you as my friends other than my post search found one in 2018.

I'm glad you find them inciteful, and/or timely, and/or inspirational, and/or thought provoking. As that is exactly their intention.

Enjoy!

PS: I did not see any posts about it, but personally, I could not log onto Sigforum either with my laptop or iPhone on Monday. Did any of you have the same problem?

I am guessing you might have had some sort of localized issue Monday. I was checking in to see your post around the right time.

I never realized you were honoring Jim in this way. It's appropriate, and I'm sure he would be pleased.

As you can see from the bottom of all my posts, I respect and miss him, too:

Must have been. It was driving me crazy as I've never missed doing one. I tried 5x with my lap top in the morning and afternoon and also several times with my iphone as well.

FFIPS was right. Glad you now understand the back story. Back to my very first such post on the forum I explained I was in no way trying to do what Jim did. Heck, who could? It was just my little way to share with all of you while thinking of him.

I recalled that it was something you shared with your daughter. I hadn't realized the JAllen connection.

It has become part of my Monday routine to find the thread and reflect on the message. Sometimes it's a quick thing and other times it goes deeper like it was intended for me to connect to the message.

I'll admit you were in my thoughts on Monday, but I knew it was too early to hit the panic button.Smile
