Wanda and three other Bridgeport, CT citizens (one of them, a city councilman) have been arrested on charges of election fraud and witness tampering.

Connecticut prosecutors brought charges against four Bridgeport political figures on Tuesday for allegedly exploiting the absentee ballot process.

Among those facing charges are Bridgeport City Councilman Alfredo Castillo and Wanda Geter-Pataky, who serves as the vice chairwoman of the city's Democratic Party and was previously embroiled in another significant election scandal.

The Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney also leveled charges against Nilsa Heredia and Josephine Edmonds, both campaign workers involved in the 2019 primary contest between Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and his Democratic challenger, Marilyn Moore.

Now wait a second, weren't we told that it was impossible to tamper in our elections? That was all just a bunch of right-wing, MAGA conspiracy kookery? How can this be!?

Well, it's OK to complain about it when a Democrat cheats against another Democrat!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Like many places CT's election fraud penalties are egregiously light at 1 to 2 years.

I believe the penalties should be graduated with systematic widespread being treated like sedition or treason:
  • 1 to 9 fraudulent votes - jail/prison time of 30 days min and 90 days max followed by 3 years probation (no voting while on probation).
  • 10 to 99 fraudulent votes - jail/prison time of 1 year min and 5 years max followed by 7 years probation (no voting while on probation).
  • 100 to 999 fraudulent votes - jail/prison time of 10 year min and 15 years max. Lifetime ban on voting.
  • 1000 to 9999 fraudulent votes - jail/prison time of 15 year min and 20 years max. Lifetime ban on voting and being employed by state or us gov't.
  • 10,000+ fraudulent votes - death and 2 year limitations on appeal

I like the first part, the stuff about "treat it like treason."

I'm actually good with the death penalty for any corrupt acts affecting an election.

Connecticut has been in the forefront of election fraud for decades.
That's why democrats have controlled the CT legislature, often with a supermajority, for at least 70 years.
