(I have a 13 Pro) and would only point out that iPhone 14 and later have direct satellite uplink connectivity for SOS calls if you're off the standard cellular network. That's my only inclination for wanting a newer model. The iPhone 16 is rumored to have full satellite text messaging capability similar to the Garmin inReach.

Also, the iphone 14 and newer has more 5G/LTE bands than the earlier models.
You can clearly see that here:
https://www.apple.com/iphone/cellular/this may or not matter to you depending on what base stations are near you as you travel around.

This is very likely to be the case. Since you can't easily move your home, replacing your phone may be the most effective option. There are also devices that allow you to place a cell in your home. These connect to your provider over WiFi (or mobile service) and repeat the cell signal at an amplified level. Most of these are carrier-specific, so you will need to contact your provider. The WiFi ones require that you have some sort of terrestrial Internet service at your location.
This can be a big win. When my wife griped at our carrier (Verizon) about how lousy the signal was at the house they sent at no additional cost (I assume they are all soaking their customers plenty) a “WiFi signal booster”. As near as I can tell, it acts like a mini cell tower, talks to the “cell radio” in the phone and dumps the IP packets directly onto our internet connection. In any case, it works like a charm and we have great coverage in the house now.

I'm pretty certain those became obsolete once Wi-Fi calling became common. In your settings, you can enable this and it will use your Wi-Fi connection to make a call if the carrier's signal is weak.

When I had lousy cell coverage in the hangar at Our Little Airport, AT&T did the same thing for me. The generic name for these devices is "femto-cell." They connect to the cell service provider via your wired internet connection and act as a mini cell tower that connects with your phone. In my case, with the AT&T device, I had to log in to the device as administrator and specify which AT&T cell phones would be allowed to connect. Once authorized, the phones had five bar signal strength anywhere in or near the hangar.

Rey HRHI have Samsung and Google Pixel tablets, a Windows PC laptop, but I use an iPhone.
I tried a Samsung phone in 2017. I did not like the memory management system for the different apps. I would rather live within the constraints of an iPhone in return for dependability of expectations.
My wife has a 7+ while I have a 14+. The schwab app on her phone doesn't work; it needs the phone to be updated to the latest software but the 7+ can't download the latest iPhone update. She'll be getting my iPhone when I get the next new one available or maybe just the 15+.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

220-9erAs long as you have Wifi in your home, just go to settings on your phone and enable Wifi calling. Then you have full strength internet.
As far as the brand, I've had I-phones for over ten years. Whenever I've used someone phone that wasn't I didn't like it, possibly because I with the operation just wasn't familiar.

I have Wifi in my home, but its source
is my iPhone. I’ve never had wired Internet in my life.

nhtagmemberGot a 13
Seems to solve the connection issue with poor connectivity. Did a couple of test calls and seems to be great.
Now the fun part is moving the stuff I want and ignoring the stuff I don’t
Also want to turn off as much tracking as possible.

Transferring data is easy. Either by laying the phones side by side and using the Transfer feature that communicates by Bluetooth. Very easy to do.
The other way is if your data, apps, pics, and vids are already in the iCloud, you can just download them that way.
If you don't have an iCloud account, the side-by -side transfer is easiest. Should take a couple of hours, depending on what you have to move over.

Go into Settings>Celluar
Make sure Wi-Fi Calling is toggled ON

nhtagmemberDone that
Also turned off all ads and tracking but will have to a bit deeper. Location services is off. Need to make sure that SIRI is turned off as well.
Moving my needed content over without an iCloud account is going to be a bit tedious but hey, have nothing else to do.

All phones are lame. Most of us only have one, because it’s a necessary evil. Bragging this one or that one is better is about like stating to a room of people that you have the smallest pecker.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone
