Is the Sonos Arc/Sub/OneSL still the go-to recommendation for a soundbar-based home theatre system?
Hi all,

Others in the past have posted for recommendations for soundbar-based home theatre system, including myself several months ago. Well, my new family room furniture is almost ready to be delivered (after an 8 month wait), so I'm about to pull the trigger on a new audio system. Back then, the Sonos Arc/Sub/OneSL was highly recommended and seemed to fit my needs perfectly. I just wanted to check in and see if anything new had appeared in the under $2K budget range that I should consider. This will be connected to a 55" Sony Bravia TV in a family room used for lots of different purposes: TV watching, movies, a little music, entertaining, etc. I am not a hard core audophile. My current system is a Sony receiver with PSB Image 5T 5.1 speakers. Nothing fancy. One goal of the family room re-do is to eliminate much of the "bulk" of the tower speakers and downsize a bit. Thanks for your time.

Chris

Sonos can’t be beat for simplicity and sound quality IMO. I’ve used a Playbar for years and recently upgraded to an Arc. Granted a have the sub and a pair of the smaller SL’s for rears, but I think it sounds pretty fantastic. I moved the playbar to my bedroom. Incidentally, if you’ve got an older Sonos product you can get 15% off by “recycling” it with them….thing is, you don’t have to ship it back to them. Kinda weird, but I got 15% off.

If you can't do a real AV setup with full speakers/subs/AV Receiver then the Sonus is a great option.
Decent sound and much easier to install that a regular full system.
Highly rated is the Sonus Surround set

I bought the set along with a Sony TV back in the spring. It works well and sounds fantastic.

You might try to go to youtube and look for the latest reviews.

I didn't know anything about sound bars but after buying two identical Samsung Tvs this year, I went ahead with getting Samsun sound bars for them, too.

I like the tv speakers work with the sound bar.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I have the Arc SL from Costco and a sub in my den. They sound fantastic. Highly recommended.

I just love that Sonos came out with the SL products and have told them so many many times.

OK, great. Thanks for the confirmation. Yes, I've also watched many YouTube reviews and the Sonos system always comes out on top, especially for my needs. I will order it today. Thanks again.

I have the soundbar (smaller one) and two "ONE SL" speakers that I picked up from Costco two years ago on a rebate and I couldnt be happier. It's easy to set up, its clean, the sounds is great for my needs. Highly recommend it.

We have a Sonos for our basement tv room. Maybe it needs the external subwoofer but I think it's probably too much money for what you get.

Ordered! Of course, the Arc is backordered until Nov 26th. Ugh. Oh well. Early Christmas present. We'll just have to use the TV speakers (gasp) after we re-arrange our furniture until the delivery arrives.

Sonos is a brand. What model do you have? Arc? Beam? Playbar?

We have the full setup from Sonos, including the sound bar and love the sound. We really enjoyed the simplicity of the setup.

I realize SONOS bread and butter are "normies" so to speak but would it kill them to add a couple a HDMI inputs to their products. I know they finally added one to smaller bar but a couple extra inputs would be nice for the money charged.
