We have a cousin who is working to get relief across the border and Samaritan's Purse is the only org she mentioned by name as doing a really good job over there right now.

She's working to get food into Ukraine and to the refugees at the border. There are unaccompanied minors crossing the border now she says...

11 year old with a piece of paper with a phone number at the border, alone.

I believe Mercy Chefs is providing meals over there.

You're already handing over cash. The US government is doing it for you. The House just passed a bill where you and me and everyone else paying taxes in the F'd up country is contributing $18B (with a 'B') to this ridiculous debacle. Of course about a third of that will likely ever reach organizations who 'could' help the Ukranians after all the grifters in and around government skim off their part, and then something less than a third when the humanitarian organizations skim off their share.

The Refugees aren't IN Ukraine, more like Romania and Poland. Most are women and children as Ukraine men don't flee the country when under fire. There's no "Canada" for them, they stick it out.

If an organization is considered the first thing to check is what percent is actually siphoned off for administrative purposes. Unlike a certain former British Prince who paid over 90% of his proceeds to 9 or so recipients, it's best to get at least 50% in the hands of people needing the help.

50% is doing well, over 75% is great, and 90% is like grading on the curve, there's only one or two. In the face of that, MOST relief organizations make a classroom F for keeping the funding.

As for our .Gov giving $14 billion, the track record on that is absolutely dismal and has been since the Obama era. It largely goes to defense contractors, and less than half to aid agencies, a lot of them non-governmental corporations who then contract the boots on the ground workers. Case in point, of the millions given for aid to Haiti, the Clinton Foundation built half a dozen homes spending $300k each and BANKED THE REST OF IT. One snarky comment that went viral was Chelsea's wedding gown was paid with it.

It's now considered that is how so many legislators get rich - the NGO's bank a lot of it, move it from one slush fund to another, and suddenly, after twenty years of service in Congress a rep or Senator making $150k a year and having two residences, one at their district and another in DC, are discovered to be worth $20 million, along with questionable stock buying as if they had insider knowledge. It doesn't help their son is on a Ukraine energy board hauling down 50-100k a year, too. It's a family business.

Ukraine isn't a helpless victim here. The government there is a major kickback scheme laundering our tax dollars which eventually come right back into our country, but not into our control. Our enemies benefit while we continue to pay interest on the money we get loaned to us by the Federal Reserve. All this was started in 2014 when Obama overthrew the legitimate government and installed one to his liking. Since then it's been one thing after another with Nato provoking its neighbors and now the revelations of some serious missteps by our own government. But we are talking Obama and Biden. Nothing has changed from those days, and nothing good has come of it.
