There is NO SUCH THING as "personal" on a government device.

Meet the new FBI, same as the old FBI.

Ah, you know, its just yoga lessons and wedding plans.

Yeah, I'm sure I've heard that somewhere before........

Since these are void of classified material, aren't those the ones they should have no problem releasing? Of course it's lies that the are concluding the missing ones are meaningless. They likely want to release as many meaningless emails to wade through just to be muckity, and maybe wish to inflate the "emails released" body count.

so the FBI is editing the text messages so that:

"primarily to facilitate the committee's access to potentially relevant text messages without having to cull through large quantities of material unrelated to either the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a personal email server or the investigation into Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 presidential election."

very nice of them.

so is it something similar to this recently released Strzok text from Sept 2016 ?

"The FBI will not turn over Deputy Director Andrew McCabe‘s text messages!
Andrew McCabe was famously mentioned in a Peter Strzok – Lisa Page text message discussing an “insurance policy” against a Donald Trump presidency."

They better find out what kind of insurance policy Deputy Director McCabe was planning. He must be sweating profusely now, perhaps waiting for the knock at the door.

The question is sure to arise before too much longer.

Who prosecutes the prosecutors?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Once again the FBI thumbs its nose at legal congressional oversight. Nunes just needs to skip the threats and start issuing contempt citations. The people in the FBI do not want this investigation to procede. Trump needs to make it very clear to Sessions that if he cannot control the FBI he will find someone who will. The same goes for the new director, who so far is no better than the old director.

You realize who prosecutes contempt of congress.

I do. And if Sessions refuses to do his job, he needs to be replaced with someone who will.

Nothing will change in until comsequences start being felt.

It is obvious that the FBI will not cooperate willingly. After Nunes threatened the first contempt charges the FBI and DOJ said they reached an agreement with congress to turn over ALL documents related to the investigation. Apparently the FBI now has moved the goal posts and has a different definition of "all". They had their chance, find them in contemp.

There is a stench emanating from the DOJ/FBI. We are somewhat confident that it doesn't involved every agent, suspect with fairly solid grounds that it involves a number of high ranking personnel, probably not the AG, or Director, perhaps not the DAG, but likely the Deputy and some Assistant Directors.

Faced with this, who should handle the prosecution and investigation necessary? Who can we trust? Who has the necessary experience and is free of taint to do a thorough, respectable, reliable job?

I suppose just getting a big bitch pot, kept at a rolling boil, and a truck and trailer load of feathers isn’t an option?

I am not sure who, but I am confident that in this ENTIRE COUNTRY, somewhere there resides a person who could be appointed as a special council and do the job dutifully. The only caveat I would insist on is that this person NOT be a lifelong swamp dweller (ahem, Mueller...). Those types of people have already proven themselves to be tainted.

The problem is getting investigative and prosecuting staff with experience and free of conflicts.

Very droll.

I would not pass a conflicts test, given all my activity here.

Worse, since I’m on supplemental oxygen, if there was a smoking gun, I couldn't get close enough to recognize it.

Plus, I am not likely to live long enough to be confirmed anyway. I rarely leave the house these days, and spend 20-22 hours a day in bed. How do you think I have time to do all the reading and posting here? I’m just hoping to live long enough to see these #$&€}>% memos!
