As any gator wrestler worth his salt can tell you, the secret is knowing that although gators have tremendous chomping strength, the muscles that open its jaws are relatively weak. You can even hold its jaws closed with one hand. Approach it from behind, straddle it so it can't bite you, and push its snout down to the ground to close its jaws. Securely strap the jaws together with something, and you can do whatever you want with it. Not that I plan to try this anytime soon.

I get that ihe video is supposed to be Comedy but, It was here in Jacksonville which central Fl does not want anything to do with and the dude is a licensed gator trapper. He was at a hockey game 5 minutes away when he got the call for service. Left the game, picked up the gator, and went back to the game. He left the gator in the cab of his truck until the game was over. While it is a bigger gator then I’m willing to jump on, it’s not a very big gator. Gators of sort of part of life in the south. NAS Jax used to have one about 12 ft long that lived in the water hazard on the 9th hole of the golf course. It liked to sun itself on the green. Golfers would just (cautiously) play through. “It’s Florida”is a good answer! Just a guess but he may have been wearing flip flops and didn’t want to risk tripping. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

A better reply is: "Its Florida, man." Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

Kudos to his gator wrastlin' skills. The sleeveless button-up shirt was a nice compliment to Floridaman to the lack of shoes. Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.

Water Dogs, this bad boy decided to take a walk through the neighborhood a while back, one neighbor walked right by it in the dark with her dog, she's lucky and should have ran to 7/11 for a lotto ticket. We drove the golf cart down to check it out, I put the lights on him and he just sat in the neighbors driveway Local Gator wrastler came by, took him a while to wear the guy down circling and he finally got the rope on him and hooked him to the trailer hitch on his F250 Supercrew, the gator was in the grass and tried to pull the truck and he was rocking it back and forth. Kind of lends perspective to his size.... Proof you can sit on one and tie its mouth shut, I wouldn't recommend it though unless you just have no choice and have some duct tape with you.

UPDATE: The Rest of the Story, as Paul Harvey would say This gator wrangler is licensed to do this by the state of Florida and was called in help, but had to leave a hockey game to do so. This is why he wasn't dressed, or equipped for the task. Here's the other interesting part. His name is Mike Dragich, he's an MMA fighter and also has non-profit that takes veterans and first responders suffering from PTSD on gator hunts. His 501c3 is called Project Savior Outdoors: https://www.projectsavioroutdoors.org .
