Loki, welcome to your new servants!
In all seriousness that's a great looking pup.

Sad hearing you had to do that but hopefully it had 14 great years. And there are a lot of pups and dogs out there that would love to have that opportunity. Hope you find one and post it here when you do!

Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.

My 15yr old daughter is trying to turn him into a lap dog. So he gets/gives plenty of snugglin'.

I think the cat is dehydrated from all the hissing and spitting. Some days, she lets him lick her face, other days, he tries to stomp on her and its pandemonium.

This is our first GSD and I'll tell you that I didn't think they were so needy. I know they liked to herd but he *likes* to herd. He's got to know where we all are, which is not unexpected. But he gets real whiny in the mornings until he's had an opportunity to find us all and give snuggles. He sleeps in my son's room but would rather be on our bed much to his chagrin.

But he is turning into a good guard dog!

Good on your daughter.

Dogs live and thrive on love.

Hopefully, things will settle down for the cat. That the pup is licking her face is a good thing. Hope the unintended stomping subsides, soon.

Well, he's definitely attached to his family. Can't beat that.

That he must know where y'all are is a side effect of that attachment.

Yup, he's gonna be a great guard dog. The best ones protect through love. That's how our Dobermans were.

However, Heaven help them should someone pose a threat.

Please work on socializing him with friends and family, if it hasn't already been done.

He gets plenty of socializing. He goes on walks every day and to the ballpark every weekend. He gets lots of compliments. Big Grin

In the pic, my son had 2 friends over and they were playing wiffleball in the cul-de-sac. He sat there and watched them for an hour.

I love German Shepards. But like many, you could rent those ears to NORAD to detect incoming missiles Smile
