This is the thread to cite the examples of how getting 'woke' in business has a detrimental impact. Feel free to add and comment and as always, keep it civil and on topic please.

Prime example:

I find it entertaining in this case how the owners were so appalled when their business was damaged by protestors. Anyone want to bet they promoted Antifa and BLM?

why does a bakery have a liquor license?

What is a “family friendly drag show”, really? Cmon, leftist trash, spell it out. It means “kids will be allowed”. To hell with that and them.

This was a Chicago area bakery and cafe; not exactly a hotbed of right leaning types. It seems some middle of the road dem folks at minimum are silently boycotting sexualizing children. Perhaps there is still some sanity left in the country after all.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I may be wrong, but a liquor license is required to serve alcohol...I don't believe you need it to bake/cook with it.

Maybe in that state....Confused

The town this happened in is Lake of the hills, a suburb of Chicago but NOT the woke area that Chicago and Cook County are.
The bakery is in McHenry County, definitely not a Dem stronghold.

The McHenry County Sheriff was one of the first to stand up to the Governor (Gerbil annihilator) that he would not enforce the new IL gun legislation.

I saw on the news last night that this bakery will remain open.
They posted a Go Fund Me and raised over $50,000.

Some states have kitchen licenses, so that you can buy wine and liquor to use cooking without paying the sin tax. South Carolina does, Florida.

Fox Business ran a fleeting story late last week headlined, “Cracker Barrel Becomes Latest Company to Flee Portland Amid Rising Crime, Retail Theft.” The sub-headline added, “Walmart announced earlier this month it is closing all of its Portland, Oregon, locations.”

The politically-correct breakfast giant generally blamed the pandemic for its surprising decision that was effective immediately. A corporate statement explained, “[W]e are saddened that we have been unable to overcome the impact the pandemic had on our business and have made the difficult decision to close the Beaverton, Tualatin, and Bend locations on March 20. The decision to close a store is never one we take lightly, and our focus right now is in assisting our impacted employees during this transition.”

Another one bites woke Portland’s crime-ridden dust.

Fox Business asked Cracker Barrel to explain what EXACTLY about the pandemic forced closing the Portland restaurants, but corporate officials carefully declined to provide any specifics, saying only that the Portland stores were financially under-performing.

For some reason.

In recent months, Wal-Mart and Nike also shuttered their Portland locations after record shoplifting and petty crime. Not to mention dangerous environments for employees. So.

Eventually these rapidly-dissolving woke cities will need someone smarter or stronger to take over.

I heard that Budweiser is making the face of a tranny, the new face for Budweiser Light, at least for a while. I thought it might have been an April fools joke but even Mark Dice made a video about it. The insanity has no bounds. I don't drink but if I did, this would get me to quit.

It would appear that within the last 3 years folks either "woke up" or "went woke". I hope other companies are learning vicariously that advocacy beyond monetary interests can have negative consequences.
