Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

You could also:

1) Get a Kill A Watt (or similar) power monitor. They're handy to have, in general.

2) If you have a modern power meter with an LCD display, you could just switch off all the breakers, and turn the breakers on for your kitchen/fridge and your AC units then read the total consumption off of the LCD. I think most fridges will cycle on if power is disrupted.
