Lots of us have negative stories about our dealings with SiriusXM but I just had a great one. My subscription runs out tomorrow. I called and waited less than a minute to get a rep. She had an accent but she spoke slowly and enunciated well enough that I never had to ask for her to repeat anything. I told the woman I wanted to see if they would offer my current deal again and if not I would cancel. I got the same rate I’m currently paying (about $9/month) same renewal date, no hassles. Call lasted 7 minutes. Either I got lucky or they’ve listened to the feedback about their call centers.

I like XM. I use it a lot in my truck, on road trips for business, and on my motorcycle. With the new streaming app I use it on my phone a good bit as well. I am not a fan of their call center. I sold a motorcycle that had XM built in to the radio and I needed to cancel that account. That conversation took nearly 20 minutes. It wasn't the rep's fault. She was clearly required to read from a rather extensive script designed to try to get me to not cancel, despite the fact that I wasn't cancelling my entire service, just a specific radio I no longer owned. By the end of it, it was semi-comical for both of us. It was like taking part in some kind of ritual that has no real bearing on reality. For everything I've ever needed from them EXCEPT cancellation, they've been decent to very good.

I did the same last time mine was up for renewal. I had been on a limited time deal at $4.99 a month and I told them I wouldn't pay any more than that to renew. I pay $6.48 per month, including fees/tax, for XM Select and get SirusXM for free. Not sure what the latter is because I've never used it. NRA Life Patron

I love my XM and if they would give me a three year contract @ $6/mo, I'd be all over it. But the concept of a six month contract and the need to fight them about stopping the current contract and renegotiating for the same $6/mo does not appeal to me. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. I call every 6 months and it is no fight to get $5 a month. Takes about 5 minutes. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

I'm fairly sure my contract is for a year. NRA Life Patron

I just did the dance with them. They will work with you if you intend to cancel. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. The Michigan Madman)

Good enough is neither good, nor enough |
I cancel every year they try and renew and they offer me a promotional rate for the year hoping I won’t notice the auto renewal the next year. It is quite yearly dance, but worth threatening to cancel every year. There are 3 kinds of people, those that understand numbers and those that don't.

I had the same good experience when I renewed in March! This is the first time ever that I didn't have to threaten to quit. Got the same rate as last year and even dropped one of three vehicles from the service! It must be the new XM?? Previously it was a call that I dreaded. This year was a breeze! Dunno??
