I like Kohler, elongated bowl and comfort height. Never had a clog with one.

yWas it Al Bundy who used a "Ferguson" Just don't get one with so much vigor that the kid goes down, too! We have a home and garden show in February. They have one model full of golf balls that still flushes. Its impressive to watch. I think that one is a premium model from American Standard.

I have a 2016 home, and the builder's grade toilets were clogomatics.
One of my buddies is in oil and gas like me and moves around like I do. Every time he buys a house he replaces the toilets with American Standard Champion 4. This is the one that American Standard advertises flushes golf balls:
Based on his advice as well as others, I replaced 2 builder's grade toilets with the American Standard Champion 4 and did absolutely nothing to the drain (e.g. no rotorooter). Night and day difference. I've used the plunger zero times since Aug '19 which is a big change from once or twice a week.

Did a lot of shopping and decided on the Toto Carlyle II, which I’m about to install three of.
Criteria high on our list were one-piece and full skirt (both for ease of cleaning), so there are definitely more affordable, equally awesome thrones from Toto, American Standard, and Kohler.

We just installed the American Standard Champion 4 one piece. So far I love it. It seems to flush noticeably faster than the old toilet.
One thing that was a little irritating was that depending on how you pressed the flush handle it had a little play in it even though it was tight, and it would sometimes scrape the outside of the tank with a sort of screech. I put a small piece of white electrical tape in the offending spot and that stopped the noise.
Hated to see the low profile Kohler go, but it was 22 years old and time for an upgrade.

Thanks for all the recommendations! In 2015, we built a house and put in Toto Drake and the American Standard Champion 4s based on those recommendations here. It seems after five years, they are still well liked. The Carlyle looks very nice, but $$$ . I plan to put a Toto seat on it, so looks like we'll go with the Drake.
