My wife has a 2021 Tahoe with the black interior. I really like the SUV overall, but the interior of this thing is ridiculously dark at night. I'm not blind, but when you drop your cell phone on the floor and cannot find it because of lack of interior lighting, it needs some change.

Anyone know of a kit you can add aftermarket to add indirect (i.e., not seen from normal seating positions) lighting to the floorboards and interior?

Does it have an ambient lighting pkg? What trim level Tahoe?
I've only been in a Premier [coworker] in the daytime, so I can't comment on the dark visibility.

Hate to sound ignrnt', but I am. It's a Z71 Tahoe, Grey exterior with black interior, and there are no badges depicting an LT, LTZ, etc. on the truck. When you open the door it doesn't even turn on the two crappy overhead click lights, which I don't see an option to change in the settings>vehicle.

They have Ford and Dodge, but no bowtie. Confused

How do you turn on the OH lights while you're driving? My Yukon is a bit older but the switch overhead has ON, DOORS, and OFF options.

But it also has the ambient lighting and the footwell is very well lit at all times.

If you look at the universal fit they have bulb numbers. If your bulb matches you just pull the bulb and plug the pigtail in. I hated the dark floor in my Tundra and love the bright footwells.

I put small directable map lights in all my vehicles. The brand is Littlite. Michigan made and great service. My current model plugs into my USB port so no complex wiring. Not real cheap but worth every penny.

Certainly the interior lights will come in when you open a door. Time to read the owners manual or just go by the dealership and let your salesman show you how to work it.

You can always add an underseat/underdash light kit if you want. They make all kinds of led strips that you can plug into the cig lighter, or pay someone to hardwire if you can’t do it yourself.that.

While a lot of newer vehicles have ambient lighting, I personally think it’s okay or even preferable to have a dark interior- night vision and all that.
