Well, Caracas is pretty close to the Caribbean coast. Still, backing indigenous forces during the takeover would probably lead to more lasting results - and less BS on the international front if a few Cubans, Russians and ChiComs accidentally catch a few thousand stray bullets.

There has been much talk about Hugo Chavez armed militias and none of them has been reported to take significant active participation in any of the previous or current events. Either they have not been invited to act or Maduro and his top advisers don't think the situation is ripe enough.
Most of the little I've seen so far seems to be contained in Caracas and have no reports of other major cities or military forces stating their allegiance to the Guaido movement.
Just saying this can be just the begining...

MSNBC reporter Kerry Sanders unwittingly made the American case for the Second Amendment during a report Tuesday on the political upheaval in Venezuela.
Anchor Andrea Mitchell introduced Sanders for his report by commenting on the surprising ability of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro to stay in power, despite the pressure on him to step down.
"Not only hanging on but he appears to still control the military," Sanders said. "You have to understand, in Venezuela gun ownership is not something that's open to everybody. So if the military have the guns, they have the power and as long as Nicolás Maduro controls the military, he controls the country."
Maduro's socialist regime has presided over economic devastation in Venezuela, where citizens are beset by rising prices and food and medical shortages. The country banned private gun ownership in 2012 under Maduro's authoritarian predecessor, Hugo Chavez.
Maduro was on the tarmac, in an airplane, ready to flee to Cuba. Russia told him to stay.

The UN?? No way that will happen. We need to get this done the hard way. I am not a fan of Eric Prince and Blackwater, but that is how to get this done. This is a very dirty job.
