I have a 2007 Camry that sits more than it gets driven. (Daily driver is my pickup). It is in a car port that is open, the front of the car sticks out of the car port and cats are on it all the time. It gets rained on a lot in the winter. I bought a cheap $22 cover from Walmart to see if owning one was worth it as every time I want to drive it, I have to wash it. The $22 cover worked ok for a few years before it developed a big rip and had to be tossed. I had to take the cover off in the winter as it would never stay on in any kind of wind, but in the summer the car was always nice and clean when I took it off... and less spiders. Between the cats and weather, the paint takes a beating. The $22 cover did help. Now, I’d like to replace the cover, but with a decent to good quality one that will Not blow off in the wind. We get some nasty storms in the winter. What brands have given members here good performance and stay on in the wind?

I just bought one from Pep Boys. About $126. It's supposed to be their best quality car cover and was supposed to be weather proof. But the driving rain we've had has gone right through it. It looks great for protecting from sun and bird droppings, etc. But it will hold moisture so I can only use it when its dry.

I've tried like hell over the years to cover my Ram when it's not garaged and nothing has really worked as well as a good 3-4 coats of paste wax a year. Sun shield in the front and 10% with added UV protection tint all around.

It blows so much here, that unless it's a super tight fit, it just comes off. Not to mention the cover slapping against the paint 24/7, does a number on the finish.

I keep it waxed all year and wash it frequently by hand.

^^^ this is true ^^^ especially with the heavier better quality ones.

They do wear out.
I have had a Wolf Car Cover on my BMW for years now.
Back when I got I think they were around $60-70 but seems from a Google-Check they are about twice that now.
I got mine in the nineties.
Made in the USA I believe too.
YMMV

IMO, car covers fall into one of two categories....Total junk (that do as much harm as good), and quality. And yes, quality is more expensive. Many of the folks who's Italian and German toys I detail on occasion, cover their cars with these when they're not at shows or stored. Cover King Car Covers. They have lots of options, colors, and prices to choose from. Ultimately, what you want is a fitted cover that was made from a pattern to your specific car. Then make sure to keep the strap, cord, whatever, running under the car attached to keep the cover from moving. There are even videos (yes, I know I'm compulsive about this stuff) on the proper way to remove/install the cover and how to fold/store it to insure it stays clean.

The ones made of Kimberly Clark Noah fabric are pretty good if they’re made to fit your specific vehicle. Otherwise the wind whips them around and they can either fly off or damage the paint.

A lot of companies use the stuff. Mine’s from BMW only because when I was looking it was cheaper than anyplace else. I guess covers for e46 models aren't big sellers anymore. It stays on and does what it’s supposed to and that’s all that matters.

I can't help you with a brand name, as it has been a few years, but the last car cover that I had, had a grommet on the bottom on each side.

It came with a cable that went from one grommet to the other, under the car. That kept the cover from blowing away.

I have a red satin felt-lined cover for the Ferrari and its in a box.

I use a Budge that I bought at O'Rileys for $35 and it works just fine.

Keeps the dust and the bugs off. Works perfect.

Expensive but it fits my car like a glove. I remember researching a ton about car covers and decided on this one. I was fortunate to find a used one in good condition for ~$130. This was 12 years ago and though mice have chewed the fabric in a few areas when it was in storage (the cover was in storage, not the car), it holds up great.
Those are Covercraft car covers which are the priciest covers on the market. They're very nice and we'll constructed, but there are similar covers for a lot less coin on the market.

I have been thinking about this since I started this thread. So much available it is confusing, but I think I have decided on the Covercraft Noah cover. Spendy, but it seems to be what I am looking for. https://www.autoanything.com/c...oah-custom-car-cover Does anyone have any experience with this cover, or Covercraft covers? The reviews are good, but can it be that much better than the $22 cover I bought at Wally World that worked fine for about 3 years except it was not fitted to the car and blew off in the wind, so I could only use it during the summer months.
