I might have a shot at a gun safe for a discount'ed price. (Moving sale from a guy I know) Way to expensive to ship a 600# safe 2 states away. What would be a reasonable cost to move a safe of this weight? Total distance 18-20 miles. Ground floor garage --> Ground floor garage. 2 Part question: What would you pay for this safe? It's probably 4-5 years old. Cannon Wide Body 64-Gun Fire Safe Specification Description Lock Type: Digital Brand: Cannon Exterior Height: 59 in. Exterior Length: 24 in. Garage to garage, less than 1,000 pounds, we usually charge in the $100 to $200 range here in the St. Louis area. With the equipment we use, it may take me as little as a minute or two to load it and unload it.

I'd give five or six hunnit dollah for a used safe like that one. If it had a dial type lock. I wouldn't have a digital combination lock on a safe.

I just paid $300 to move a 1000lb safe about 6 miles but there were a few steps and doorways involved. I've moved the safe myself twice and after those experiences, $300 was a bargain. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

None of my bid'ness, but please tell me you're not going to install/anchor your safe in your garage. That gives burglars access to the location, A/C power, tools using the A/C power, and simple and quick egress/extraction. I don' mean to be all up in yo' grill, homes. Aight? Jus' sayin', dawg', anchor it in a stealth-like place, preferably in a high traffic 'hood from neighbors that can hear well, and in the same place you keep your nine pit bulls. Remember your safes lifespan is in direct confluence with your operational security, 'cause 'yo 600 Lbs. safe can be cracked in half an hour by any burglar worth his salt. H&K-Guy

I just have absolutely zero places to put a safe of this size inside my house. At least not ones that aren't obnoxious. Garage is the only place I can really put this thing. I got two quotes from safe movers. $350 & $417. Honestly I can probably get the safe for $300 + $350 to the movers. I'm on the fence. Is there perhaps room on a side wall in the garage to place it inside a set of custom built cabinets that will conceal it?

I recently had a 64 gun Browning safe moved from a basement (13 steps) to a garage 2 miles away. Cost was $225 by a professional. I asked the salesman at Rural King who moved the safes they sell and was given a contact #. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

556 pounds is pretty light for a 64 gun safe. With fireproofing that's not a lot left for steel.

My Cousin put his safe in his garage. He then built a fake cabinet around it so it just kooks like a regular garage cabinet. Basically a plywood box. He closes his garage door when he wants to get in to it. ----------------------------------- Get your guns b4 the Dems take them away Sig P-229 Sig P-220 Combat

I had a Winchester (~750 pounds) moved 30 miles with no up or down levels on either end and I was charged $250 about 4 years ago. It probably could have been done by two strong yutes, but I didn't have any avaiable. ———- Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for thou art crunchy and taste good with catsup.

I've noticed those guys never wear protective shoes. I hired a piano moving company to transport my safe from the retailer to my house. None of those guys were wearing steel toe shoes. The lead guy was wearing open toe flip flops. Geez. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

I have the same safe but with a mechanical lock and like it. Have had it 6 years now. I'd probably pay $400-500 for it used. I paid $300 to have mine unbolted from the floor, holes filled, moved about 3 miles and new holes drilled into concrete and bolted down with 3/4" bolts......in South Florida a few years back.
