Looks like he was trying to ditch the phone he stole, but upon first viewing of this, it damn sure looked to me like he was trying to draw a weapon. Stupid bastard. Reminds me of a video I saw of one of our soldiers in Iraq taking fire, returning fire and getting hits, then running over to try to save the life of the guy who tried to kill him.

Either that kid was mentally slow as fuck, or that was a suicide by cop.
That's gotta be a thing by now. Get into a confrontation with the police, ignore commands until you get a bunch of guys pointing guns at you, then make a sudden movement and hope you get shot. Then you or your estate files a lawsuit against the department, probably getting a quick settlement out of it. Roll the dice on actually surviving the shoot. Ghetto lottery.

I like how the car wasn't hit, the officers were upset they had to shoot (showed their humanity or...), and the first thing was to treat the wounds.

What is confusing is the stress of knowing you were caught breaking and entering and, at the least, are about to get hauled off to jail. Lots of people aren't good under that kind of pressure.

It was VERY clear what the police wanted this guy to do. There is no doubt as to what they were asking him to do.
And yes, even someone who is caught and knows they will go to jail could understand the CLEAR commands of the police in that video.
