Any 2019-2022 Sequoia owners? Thinking about getting one.
I currently have a 2016 Forrester with 170k hard miles on it as a daily driver/dog car. It was the first year of the CVT and it is starting to occasionally act weird. We have been looking at a full size SUV with 3rd row seating. I had 2 4Runners and loved them and miss them both. Are there any common issues with them? Any advice? I have been contemplating going to TX or AZ to get one, the prices are comparable and they haven’t been subjected to years of salt. I have no desire for a new one, not so sure about that new twin turbo v6.

Thanks
Ed

I probably bought one of the last 2022s. It was the height of the Covid car shortage. Glad I bought it. This is my second Sequoia, my first was a first gen 2005 model, and my son still drives it. As long as you keep up with maintenance - oil every 5K, radiator drain/fill every 50K, transmission drain/fill every 60K, diff/transfer case every 35K, you should be good. Esp important is the radiator fluid swap to prevent the fluid from getting too acidic and eating your head gasket. Since this is an aluminum block with steel cylinder sleeves, apparently there's not much you can safely do if you blow a gasket and the block gets damaged. Otherwise, there have been many examples of that 5.7 motor going 1M miles.

The downside, of course, is that big V8 is thirsty.

Thanks. That’s what I was looking for. There is a 2015 with 100k at the Lexus dealer. We may go look at it this weekend. Clean one owner and we have my wife’s Lexus serviced.
