My 85 year old aunt is scheduled for eye surgery under general anesthesia on Wed. She is complaining of being constipated and worse. Would this be a problem?

I'm sure Gustofer will be able to give you a more definitive answer, but I think the main issue might be with narcotic pain meds making the constipation worse. My guess is that it's less of a problem with eye surgery than abdominal where post op straining on the toilet would stress the incision.

Straining to drop a duece isn't any good for newly operated on eyes either. Tell her to 'take the tube' if needed. -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

I am not a doctor and I do not play one on TV, IIRC Narcotics slow the system so constipation is one of the symptoms. God Bless "Always legally conceal carry. At the right place and time, one person can make a positive difference."

Depending on the eye surgery, she may not even need that type of painkiller. Tell her not to worry, but to discuss her concerns with her doctor. Anyone doing surgery on a woman that age is likely experienced enough to deal with this type of potential issue.
