The most infamous gun runner was Eric Holder. Colonel North was Regan's get the job done guy. I just hope President Trump has the good sense to select a guy like Ollie North to do some jobs. I bet the libtards would have head explosions from even the mention. They have a large library of rotten and overused material from the past.

The NRA membership should love it, and the lefties will be driven crazy, but the NRA can't reach them anyway, so it sounds like a good choice.

I believe that the choice of Oliver North was a vary bad PR blunder. Why unnecessarily give the libs ammunition? One goal of the NRA is to gain membership, not drive membership away.

The NRA has no desire to win over the approval of the left. Their job is to combat the left and their socialist agenda - and Ollie North is the right man for that job !

The NRA won't win over the left, but we as members and firearms enthusiasts can win people one by one.

A couple ideas:
  • Invite someone shooting who has never shot before
  • Be remembered as a nice, knowledgeable guy/gal who likes the guns or the shooting sports and when a lefty encounters a mugger, stalker, or violent criminal they may seek you out.

    The large majority of gun owners do not belong to the NRA, and they are not lefties.
    These, not the lefties, are the people who are reluctant to join the NRA and we just gave them a very strong reason to again decide not to join: we now have, as a figurehead for the NRA, a gun-runner.
    It is not "in your face" to the lefties, but rather is an "in your face" to the average gun owner.
