I suppose that depends on "which tradition". In my own limited exposure to fritatas, not so much potato. Its short step to a whole world of similar appearing dishes, but I can't identify the exact line. I was informed by several with east European ancestry, of a variety of cultural differences that amply addressed in numerous cookbooks.
