Modern Day SavageCaucus Room.com-A social media networking and mobilizing group for Conservatives and Libertarians
Caucus Room .com was launched a few months ago. It strikes me as being a Facebook or Next Door for Conservatives. They appear to prioritize verified accounts, I'm guessing to prevent trolls/ troublemakers.
About caucusroom.comPer their website:
CaucusRoom is a community for conservatives to gather, network, encourage, and mobilize locally.
The following Caucus Room Community Values statement is intended to be a starting point for Caucus Room Members to discuss and agree upon their local community’s shared purpose and values. In the traditional precinct caucuses, the precinct Chairman typically facilitates a discussion among members of their top policy goals. Those policies are forwarded up the chain to the State and later to the National party platforms. In that same spirit, we want all CaucusRoom members to have a say in the development of our Community Values statement.
When a sufficient number of Members in a neighborhood join CaucusRoom, we will create a discussion space on that neighborhood page for members to share their policy goals and upvote their favorite goals listed by other members. We will set deadlines for finalization, and then CaucusRoom Council will review neighborhood goals and update or amend the CaucusRoom Community Values statement accordingly. We will reset the discussion on that community page on a regular basis (Perhaps annually or biennially).
CaucusRoom is a community of registered voters who believe in and honor the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Members of CaucusRoom will inform each other, discuss issues they care about, debate policy solutions, and coalesce around political candidates and causes that best represent their values.
CaucusRoom Community Values
1. In God we trust
2. Truth is timeless
3. Life is the most precious gift
4. All people are created equal
5. Freedom, liberty (including responsibility)
6. Private ownership of property (I grew it, I made it, I wrote it…)
7. The pursuit of happiness
8. Self-sufficiency
9. Government is a necessary evil
10. Prime duty of government is to secure our rights
11. Rule of law
12. Minimal regulation
13. Local control (subsidiarity) is generally preferred
14. Limited power (governs least, governs best)
15. Free markets
16. Strong military (to secure our rights)
17. Freedom of thought (religion, press…)
18. Self-defense and the right to bear arms.
19. Principled taxation
20. Citizenship is an affirmative dutyIn addition to the various groups there are various blogs, podcasts, logos, invitation PDFs, and even various conservative memes available for members to download and share.
It looks like changes have been made to their website since I first started poking around and there isn't much available unless you first create a verified account.
After emailing them, the reply I received confirmed that while their early launch effort is to reach out to Colorado Conservative and Libertarian voters, they welcome those from outside the state as well and the community features are available to any and all.
They also confirmed that, should you decide not to participate, you can delete your own account.

Modern Day SavageSupposedly so many people joined recently that their website went down. They use a multi-step verification process for new accounts to verify that new members are actually people and not bots, and are asking for new member's patience as they work through the backlog of new accounts.

erj_pilotI hope they have PLENTY of moderators, because that site is going to be a pure-dee NIGHTMARE to manage!!

"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24 February 29, 2020, 07:58 AM
Modern Day SavagePerhaps so, but one of the founder's/ administrator's comments about how they were going to handle member's comments indicated that they have had very few problems so far.

The organization that started this effort bought local radio air time to promote it. So far, Jon Caldara, president of the conservative free market think tank the Independence Institute, former FEMA director and talk show host Michael Brown, and radio talk show host Mandy Connel are all self-described Libertarian/ Conservative in their view points but are promoting the launch, and both Caldara and Brown have created content for the site.
10-15 years ago the Colorado vote was almost evenly divided between Democrat, Republican, and unaffiliated voters...but in recent elections the unaffiliated vote outstrips either of the two major parties, although the majority of unaffiliated votes seem to go to the Democrats.
I'm guessing that this site is working to bring in some of the unaffiliated vote under the conservative/ libertarian tent.

Skull LeaderTrying to join, they've emailed me saying they can't verify me as a conservative. I wonder how they are checking/verifying?

Hmm, I'm honestly not sure how the multi-step verification works...maybe they check voter registration rolls??
I noticed a link on their website on why your account may not be approved, you might check that.
I'm surprised that they couldn't explain why they weren't able to verify your status. The email I received stated they had members from outside the state and welcomed new members...like I mentioned previously, new member registration crashed their website recently and they were working through the backlog, so hopefully you will be approved soon.

Modern Day SavageFor those interested in joining, many of the Caucus Room "neighborhoods" are organized around real neighborhoods local to the member joining, however some are organized at the county level as well.

I just caught an interview with one of the site founders and he acknowledged that, in a few instances, they had some technical issues, but also noted that in several cases it was communication issues on their end.
Reportedly, they have made some changes and have committed to replying/ reacting to new account requests within 24 hours, although there will still be a slight delay while they go through the verification process as they are actively working to eliminate the possibility of trolls or bots from joining.
