I haven't cared for the NFL or FBS for decades, but FCS ball still gets me fired up, especially when my team (and alma mater) is in the running, and this year they are beyond "in the running".

12-0, #1 seed, and yesterday took out their arch-nemesis in a mostly embarrassing fashion, which, truth be told, is the ONLY game that really matters all year long. Back in '83 we went 1-10, winning that game and it was a perfect season. Big Grin

Lots of good talent this year as the Dakota States are always tough, but some newcomers in the University of South Dakota and UC Davis knocking at the door.

Anybody else pay attention to FCS ball? Who ya rootin' for?

Oh, and this one's for you snwgst (all in good fun, of course) Wink Big Grin

NDSU fan here. We shit the bed on Saturday but walked ass backward into the 2 seed. I'm hoping we make it to Frisco this year. May even be able to go to the game if we make it since my annual golf trip got cancelled in January.

I'm a deplorable.

I'm an alumni of Boise State, but we used to play the Montana schools way back when BSU was still in the Big Sky conference, so I still have some interest (I grew up in Havre and Helena). I watched part of the UM/MSU game yesterday. I've been more of a Griz follower than a Cat, but I'll be pulling for the Cats in the FCS playoffs. Good Luck!

I'm kind of hoping for a rematch of '21...with a better outcome. Big Grin.

Just don't break our quarterback's ankle this time. Wink

Tough loss on Saturday for sure. They left that guy wide open.

I remember those Boise State days in the Big Sky 308. Back when we had Fresno State as well. We're getting old!

Tell me about it. I remember traveling to a mid-November BSU game in Missoula. The stadium was open on both ends and the wind was blowing straight down the field out of the north. Sumbitch but it was cold that day.

I have to chuckle watching some of the kids out there in the stands for them cold games - shirtless in below zero weather cheering on the team. Man, to be 18 again. Of course, they're full of antifreeze, but still... Big Grin

December 14, 1996. The coldest I have ever been in my life was in Montana where my Troy State Trojans lost 7-70 in the FCS playoffs. I was a student at Troy and I flew up with the cheerleaders to watch the game.

As for current FCS, I don't follow it, but I do follow D2 a bit because UWF is so close to where I live.

I pay a little bit of attention to the Big Sky conference throughout the year because my Golden Bears often play one team from the conference. I suppose I’ll root for UC Davis in the playoffs due to family ties. I always root for the Montana schools for no reason other than Montana seems like a great place.

Same here. The first two rounds' games are all on ESPN, which I don't get, so I haven't been able to watch. I saw this morning the Cats annihilated the Vandals. I'll be watching the semifinals next week on ABC though.

The Vandals came to play, and I thought we'd have a tight game of back and forth after that first quarter. Then the bottom fell out.

The Cats are just too strong and too deep this year and these kids are on a mission. It's been a long 40 years since '84. You hate to get overconfident, but I've never seen them look this good and they're going through teams like a freight train.

It'll be interesting to see if Davis can pull off the upset on the road at USD today. That's should be a good game.

Still predicting a rematch in Frisco with NDSU...with a different outcome.

That on sides kick by Idaho was the dumbest thing I have seen in awhile. That totally blew the game for Idaho. Things went tits up after that. So dumb. You can hang that game directly on the coaches neck.

Yeah, that was just dumb. They were playing good enough at that point that they didn't need any tricky stuff.

The Jacks are up big over Incarnate Word. No real surprise there.
