Crashsafe Car Survival Tool
I cannot think of a better place to ask this question.

This Crashsafe tool is a car window-breaker, seatbelt cutter and emergency light in one tool. I am thinking about getting one for each of my family members, but I don't know how good this product is or if there is something better out there.

Help me out SF family. Is this a quality tool or is there a better version out there?

Haven't heard of it. I use this (it's in the console and I always carry one) and then also keep some surefire's in the glove box.

I keep a Benchmade Houdini in my truck.
The product you link to has a few more features, like the USB charger, and emergency beacon. But also costs about 3x what I paid for the Houdini.

Never had to use the Houdini, thankfully, but gives a bit of peace of mind.

RESQME works. And works when the car is filling with water.

These are what I keep in my cars. I also travel with one and keep it in my carry on bag.

Trying to shatter a window with anything short of a spring deployed metal pointy device is difficult. Sometimes impossible.

Just to keep in mind.

I also carry the Resqume.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

RESQUME in all of our vehicles. I even gave them as Christmas gifts a few years ago.

I do the same.

RESQUME in each of our cars, danglin' from the rear view mirrors.

I always figured that in a crash, this thing is going to be rolling around under the seat somewhere

I have a tool that was a free hand-out at my wife's department. It has a spring-loaded punch and a seat belt cutter. No light in it, but I have a light in the truck anyway. It is small enough to keep hanging from my rear view mirror.

ETA, after looking at the pictures, mine is a RESQME. Since it fits into a separate clip/holder, all I have to do is pull it down to release it from my rear view mirror.

Just a reminder. If you keep one in your vehicle to self-rescue in the event of an accident make sure it's not only somewhere you can reach when belted in but also will not get tossed somewhere else during an accident.

+1 for the Resqme tool for.an emergency window breaking tool.

We've tested a bunch of car window breaching devices at work, and the only thing that works better than the spring loaded devices is the claw side of a framing hammer. However, that's for breaking into a car, not out. Since its harder swing a hammer inside a car, something like the Resqme is better for getting out, IMO.
