I bought a used Kenne Bell and had it shipped to me. In spite of the guy trying to pack it protected it arrived with a small gouge in the housing which is anodized aluminum. It’s a very dark blue and I’m thinking if I can get the right blueing like you see on an old classic S&W that might be the best bet. Can anyone recommend a specific color or type of bluing? I’m wondering if the Birchwood Super Blue would work? What it looked like going into the box. The blue anodize shows more in the sun like in the previous pics. This doesn’t address the gouge though I am not BIPOLAR. I don't even like bears. | ||

If it's aluminum, you might have luck with Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black, which does sometimes have a bluish tint. Maybe try on a test section first. Super Blue is only for ferrous metals, and won't work on aluminum at all. | |||

When I used the BC Aluminum Black, I hit it with some CLP after it dried, and it turned bluish. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles | |||

Has to be a Mustang or Lightning. These were super popular on both of them but didn’t seem to catch on with much else for whatever reason. | |||

2008 Shelby GT. Most of these came from Shelby N/A, lowered and built for the track much like the GT350. Because these are collectors many purists cringe at the thought of a mod like this but hey, I love driving this thing I just want to be a little afraid of it. Nothing crazy, it’ll put down about 475 RWHP with 4:10 gears so that’ll be enough. I had the 4.6 3V dressed up real nice so I’m going to miss the look. Should be about 2 weeks and it’ll go to the shop. I am not BIPOLAR. I don't even like bears. | |||

Supercharger is going to be fun, the one on my 03 F150 HD edition was a hoot, and the sound it makes under full throttle is awesome.... Instead of reblueing it, why not have it painted the same blue as you existing cover. That would look good under the hood at car shows.... | |||

I’m not convinced paint would hold up on polished aluminum. I’d want to remove the anodizing and that sounds like a CF. I contacted Kenne Bell when I was considering having it powder coated about disassembly and the strongly advised against that. It’s very complicated and takes special tools and jigs which I’m not about to make or pay to have made. KB said I could send it to them and for $900 they would do a rebuild and remove the anodizing and polish it. I thought about that but I don’t want a polished SC. I’m going to try the bluing this weekend. Even if it turns out half ass it’ll be at least partially hidden under the strut tower brace. I am not BIPOLAR. I don't even like bears. | |||

My buddy's dad has a 07 Roush 427R Built for handling & a blower that sounds like a banshee at full throttle. Bought new, I'd be surprised it if has 30k on it. I've driven it twice & it's it's definitely not just a straight line pony. The Enemy's gate is down. | |||

That makes sense, powder coating it is probably the only way to get a quality long term coating that will hang with the heat. | |||

You will enjoy supercharger maybe to the point of not being able to wipe off the grin. Close friend of mine in college had one on his 1986 Mustang. L.O.T.S. of F.U.N.! | |||

I'd fill the gouge carefully with some bondo or similar and try to find an enamel nail polish that is close. | |||
