Thanks for setting this up Legal Beagle.

You do not need a Paypal account. I was able to just use a credit card, and checked out as a guest. The interface is a little wonky, but just look out for the "continue as guest" button. Hope that helps.

No paypal account required. You can pay with your credit card. Your card is processed thru paypal but you can complete the process as a guest without setting up an account.

Edit: I type too slow, Mike beat me to it!

I have NEVER contributed to a fundraiser benefiting an individual… till now! Even now, I feel like the contribution is for all of us that enjoy this community. The only other comment is to encourage all of us to double or more the goal. Let’s make this cash injection to our leader truly impactful… as his efforts have truly impacted our lives!!!!!

It's not possible for me to adequately express my gratitude to all of you. As most will understand, this is a difficult thing for me and as I said, I wish I could have avoided it, but current circumstances compel me to set aside my pride. The reaction and comments have eased the blow, and I thank all of you, most sincerely.

A couple of things I feel I need to make clear and then I am going to refrain from further posting in this thread for now, since it seems like a crass thing to do in a fundraiser for one's self.

First, this "tip" portion of the donation form is something the crowdfunding site is asking you to donate to them, not me, and it is optional; you don't have to give them anything, as they are already extracting their fee from the donations. You can simply opt out.

Secondly, and much more importantly, I want to make it crystal clear that any gift you give is for me, personally. As you know, I have a partner in this venture, and as long as lbj is around, the forum will be in no danger of being underfunded. Though lbj is mostly absent from the forum these days and the day-to-day operations of SIGforum are my responsibility, lbj most certainly does his part. The difference is that lbj isn't in need of cash right now.

Again, heartfelt thanks to you all.

I chipped in a fifty, thinking there’s so many of us regulars, we’d all want a shot before it closed. Now I see a bunch of you guys are giving four figures, so now I feel like a cheap bastard. Kudos to all of you who are so generous, truly a great bunch of people. I predict we’ll be past the goal today.

Thanks, Para, for all you do.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
