Giving what you can says a lot on its own. Really appreciate you doing what you can to help Para out!

Love the night crew check-in! I think I'm there with you as much as I stay up. Smile What do you say, fellow night owls? Can we give the day shift guys a good running start at finishing this off in 24 hours?

This. 100% this. Even just a note of support or bumping the thread helps!

Been lurking here since at least 2001 because I definitely remember it before 9/11. Not sure why I didn’t join before 08. I was at Para’s other forum that went downhill after an ownership change. Glad this forum didn’t go that way.
Happy to help and I would be willing to commit to an annual sustaining membership. Like putting the local PBS station sticker on the Volvo window…

I sent the link to my work email. Will contribute online in the AM through a secure network.

old rugged cross, thank you for your generous contribution. It was so generous I could not match it but I did match what I said I would.

This place is my number one go to site every day. I am fortunate that I can afford to contribute to a big source of my enjoyment.

12131 shared a pretty thoughtful idea with me: can we just give directly to Para or to me to give to Para?

Before I set this up, I went over the campaign with Para and we agreed that using a dedicated crowdfunding platform and payment processor was worth a 2.9% fee, because that fee ensures that the payment processor handles the tax reporting and recordkeeping.

This means we'll collectively spend about $870 on a $30,000 goal but the fees are offset by (1) complete transparency because ALL of the funding is recorded and can't be skimmed or siphoned off, and (2) crowdfunding is a gift, not income, IF you have good recordkeeping.

This fee is well worth saving the time and effort of recordkeeping; it's peace of mind for Para that he'll have a properly prepared 1099K and no tax liability (which means that more money can be used directly for his needs, instead of having to hire a CPA or tax attorney to manage the crowdfunding dispersals or save money on estimated taxes.)

It's counter-intuitive but using Fundrazr and PayPal as the crowdfunding platform and payment processor will actually ensure more of the funds go directly to Para's personal needs, despite the nominal fee.

Just now seeing this, will get on it, happy to help, especially after so many years of Para not asking or having ads, this is such a small ask - all things considered.

Dropped a miniscule contribution in. Had a couple unexpected vet bills that set me back until payday. I'll hit it again then.

I might not post much, but I'm on here every day. By far the best forum I've found on the net.
