BGULLHAPPY TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY!
Happy Texas Independence Day! On this day Texas declared our independence from Mexico.
Of note to this forum, the first time since I’ve been on Sigforum that proud Texan/teasip Jallen is not here to add his voice to celebrate. He is missed.

architectMexico allowed/encouraged uncontrolled immigration into Texas in the early 19th Century, and look what happened. Seems like there might be a lesson to be learned from that experience.

That was my first thought when I saw your thread title. Yes, he is truly missed.

Remember Goliad!
To celebrate I went to one of our most sacred institutions...H-E-B. Made a point of trying to buy as many “Texas made” products as I could.
Tonight I’ll discuss with my oldest daughter more about our state’s history.

ftttuHappy Birthday, fellow Texans!!!
I was at Washington-on-the-Brazos today where they are having period dress, reenactments, period camp displays, Texas Aggie Mariachis, Texas Aggie Singing Cadets and a lot more. Had a great time with other Texas Independence Day celebration attendees and actors. It will continue on for tomorrow as well if y'all are in the Washington County, Rexas area...free entry and parking.
