Left-Handed, NOT Left-Winged! |
Yes, the immigration acts of 1924 and 1928 were intended to keep America European and exclude Asians. The annual quota system is based on the number of people already living in the U.S. from each country, which favors European contries tremendously. It is quite easy to immigrate from England or Ireland, much more so than India or Pakistan or Africa. So now, with European governments welcoming Islamic immigrants, ignoring the will of their own people, destroying their native cultures, paving the way for Sharia law by popular vote, and even putting people in JAIL for speaking out against this... I HEARBY WELCOME ALL Native Brits, Irish, Germans, Italians, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Dutch, Austrian, and every other European country to escape your impending 3rd world hellholes and immigrate to the United States! The goal is numbers and votes. And we can win by encouraging the vast numbers of Europeans allowed to immigrate under current laws to do so and make the U.S. their home. I am serious. 100%.

Only if they apply, wait their turn, get vetted and do it right. Otherwise they’re no more entitled to be there than the Somalis

That's the beauty of it, they don't have to wait long because the quotas for them are so high! All 100% legal under existing laws.

That is stupid and down right silly. They need to stay and fix their own mess'. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

They can't because when the majority votes for anti-immigration conservatives, somehow the multiple parties make it so they cannot actually get enough seats to do anything. The system is rigged for the leftists. If the left is going to immigrate hordes if 3rd worlders to get enough votes to win all elections, we can immigrate conservative Europeans to vote with us.

I’m thinking you wouldn’t like Europe’s conservatives very much. _________________________ "Age does not bring wisdom. Often it merely changes simple stupidity into arrogant conceit. It's only advantage, so far as I have been able to see, is that it spans change. A young person sees the world as a still picture, immutable. An old person has had his nose rubbed in changes and more changes and still more changes so many times that that he knows it is a moving picture, forever changing. He may not like it--probably doesn't; I don't--but he knows it's so, and knowing is the first step in coping with it." Robert Heinlein

On the surface this sounds like a worthwhile idea. OTOH, many "conservative" Europeans are far to the left of many "liberal" Democrats in the US. Their "centrist" party policies would be considered socialist or worse by our standards. And, as for supporting the 2A, forget about it! Much of Euro and UK politics is still under the assumptions made in the WWII era when it was Facist/Monarchy vs. freedom and the Commies gained a lot of traction via this notion. As such many Europeans equate conservatism with Fascist totalitarianism, conditioned by their parents who lived through WWII, and the prevailing mindset of those times. Some of us have lived long enough to understand that giving Govt. too much power will never turn out to the people's advantage no matter what political philosophy their adherents pretend to espouse. Encouraging those to immigrate who are likely to move the political needle further to the left seems too likely to backfire.

My son's college roommate is from France. We invited him to stay with us for the hurricane and had ample opportunity to talk with him about politics in France, America, and Europe. I couldn't argue with a single thing he said because it was like he was saying the exact things I would say except with a French accent. He wasn't just agreeing with me or parroting what I said, he was actually saying these things before I said anything at all. He was in complete support of the Second Amendment.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
For a perfect example of this flawed logic, just look at some of our western states, once more conservative, that have attracted the same type people from California and other leftist states. They screwed up their states, then left with their money, thinking they'd get a do-over even while still voting the same. They have overwhelmingly brought the same leftist voting with them instead of only attracting the type voter we might prefer, turning those states purple, then blue.
